The Role As an Embedded Software Engineer joining our Support Engineering organization you will be working closely with Sales, Systems Engineering, and our customers. This position is focused on customer enablement and sustainment where software activities are needed to integrate Concurrent Technologies hardware into customer applications. The role can therefore involve direct customer interaction.
What will I be delivering? • Customize, integrate, and optimize software for use with Concurrent Technologies products and systems • Develop, bring up, and support Embedded Linux BSPs, kernels, device drivers, and middleware • Support FPGA-based platforms through software integration, validation, and test development • Create and maintain demonstration software and reference configurations for Sales and customer evaluations • Validate operating systems, middleware, applications, and device drivers across Linux, Windows, and VxWorks • Develop test software to verify system functionality, performance, and integration • Diagnose and resolve customer software issues related to system bring-up and applicationintegration • Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and systems engineers when low-level investigation isrequired • Participate in customer support calls and technical discussions, progressing to direct customer engagement as experience grows
What do I need to bring with me? Essential knowledge & experience: A methodical, process-driven engineer with strong problem-solving skills who is comfortable working across software, FPGA based systems, and embedded hardware platforms. The ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal engineering teams is essential. Open to entry level engineering graduate, with a good understanding of the areas below: • Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience • Experience with Embedded Linux on x86 platforms • Proficiency in C for embedded and low-level software development (register-level interaction) • Strong debugging and system-level problem-solving skills
Desirable: • Experience integrating software with FPGA-based subsystems • Experience working with Linux kernels and possibly device drivers • Exposure to VPX, OpenVPX, or SOSA-aligned architectures • Knowledge of networking configuration and constraints • Some experience supporting customers fielded systems in regulated environments
