Embedded Software Engineer - AUTOSAR / BSW Platform IntegrationJob Overview / Summary We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with experience in automotive embedded software development, microcontroller-based platforms, and AUTOSAR Classic architecture.
The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, along with hands-on experience in platform integration, embedded software development, and testing. Experience with Vector-based AUTOSAR Classic platforms is particularly valuable.
Key Responsibilities - Perform microcontroller (MCU) platform bring-up, including clock configuration, pin mapping, memory initialization, interrupts, and peripheral configuration.
- Configure and validate Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL) drivers and resolve hardware-software integration issues.
- Design, develop, and debug embedded C software for low-level and platform components.
- Maintain clear interfaces between drivers, middleware, and application software.
- Configure, integrate, and validate AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) and operating system components.
- Establish task scheduling, interrupt handling, initialization sequences, and platform startup behavior.
- Integrate CAN DBC and LIN LDF communication descriptions into platform configurations.
- Configure communication drivers, communication stacks, signal mapping, message routing, and middleware interfaces.
- Implement and validate low-power management, including sleep and wake-up transitions, wake-up sources, and platform service restoration.
- Develop and maintain translation layers connecting non-AUTOSAR C applications to ECU middleware through defined interfaces.
- Integrate application components with platform middleware and validate interface compatibility, initialization sequences, scheduling, and data exchange.
- Measure and optimize RAM usage, CPU load, task execution time, and software startup time.
- Debug and resolve integration issues across MCU drivers, BSW, operating systems, middleware, and application components.
- Maintain platform configurations, interface specifications, build instructions, and validation documentation.
- Support repeatable software builds and the release of validated platform software.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of embedded software development experience.
- 2+ years of programming experience in C/C++ or Python.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ with the ability to develop portable and platform-independent code.
- Experience with low-level interfaces and communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, ICU, PWM, GPT, and CAN.
- At least 1 year of experience developing Proof-of-Concept (PoC) applications for automotive ECUs.
- At least 1 year of experience working in an Agile development environment.
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in software development for automotive control units.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR methodology and workflows.
- Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR software development and integration projects.
- Familiarity with RTE configuration activities.
- Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR authoring tools.
- Embedded software development experience on Linux platforms.
- Experience with software simulation using hardware models.
- Strong embedded debugging skills.
- Knowledge of tools used for embedded software development.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of functional safety standards, including ISO 26262 and ASIL A-D, is a plus.
