Full Job Description
We are looking for a creative Electronics Engineer to join an exciting and dynamic team in designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting complex electrical test equipment used to certify FBM system through the testing lifecycle. This position does not support teleworking; you will need to live near our Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. The Electronics Engineer V is an individual contributor on the D5LE - Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. You will design and integrate hardware for Automated Test Equipment (ATE). Work is performed under the direction of EGSE leadership and is focused on delivering hardware deliverables on schedule.

This position is responsible for the strategic design, development, integration, and validation of the D5LE EGSE equipment used to verify critical FBM components and subsystems. The role bridges system engineering, hardware design, software development, and test operations to ensure EGSE solutions meet mission performance, schedule, and cost objectives.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
  • Provide technical leadership in design reviews (PDR, CDR, Test Readiness Review) and resolve any open technical issues.
  • Lead continuous process improvement efforts for the D5LE EGSE Portfolio
  • Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.
  • Resolve test anomalies and troubleshooting, and generation, review and presentation of Product Certification, and also support system level testing
  • Define the overall EGSE architecture, standards, and interfaces in alignment with parent system requirements

Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of design, analysis, integration, test, and deployment of Electronics Equipment.
  • Experience in supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
  • Experience in phases of aerospace hardware development cycle.
  • Working knowledge of RF circuit design.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen.


Desired Skills

  • Defense & Aerospace Domains: A background or familiarity with aerospace systems, defense technologies, or working directly alongside government/military clients.
  • Agile & Collaboration Tools: Familiarity navigating Agile frameworks and platform management environments like JIRA, Git, and Confluence.
  • Troubleshooting & Field Verification: Advanced on-site diagnostics, systems testing architecture, and hardware/software integration testing.
  • Develop end-to-end EGSE architecture using Model-Based Systems Engineering (SysML, MagicDraw, or similar).
  • Experience with PXI, National Instruments chassis, and modular test platforms.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
