Full Job Description
Position Summary

Odyssey is recruiting to fill an Electronic Warfare Engineer supporting the WIB CV-22 Osprey Division, at Patuxent River, MD. WIB is part of the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), who is responsible for equipping our warfighters to win the fight. The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Apply DoDD 5000-series acquisition policies and AFMC/AFLCMC engineering processes across SOF engineering, systems development, and lifecycle support.
  • Use multidisciplinary engineering expertise to develop system concepts, conduct technical trade studies, and evaluate alternative design approaches.
  • Support definition and translation of weapon system and subsystem requirements into system specifications, design criteria, and tailored airworthiness requirements.
  • Assist in developing system performance objectives, integration requirements, and resource estimates for design, development, sustainment, and modernization.
  • Conduct technical analyses, evaluate proposals, assess design changes, and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions aligned with program requirements.
  • Perform modeling, simulation, and survivability/vulnerability analyses to identify integration issues, technical risks, and OSS&E concerns.
  • Provide technical support for propulsion system development, integration, performance assessment, and sustainment.
  • Support engineering of sensors, signature-reduction technologies, defensive avionics, and electromagnetic-environment compatibility for SOF platforms.
  • Review system architectures, ICDs, specifications, and interface documentation to ensure interoperability, feasibility, and compliance with DoD standards.
  • Conduct technical and mission analyses to translate user requirements into system requirements and support milestone reviews and technical evaluations.
  • Support risk identification, OSS&E analysis, risk mitigation planning, and engineering performance assessments across SOF programs.
  • Participate in TIMs, design reviews, configuration boards, and engineering working groups, producing technical summaries, action items, and recommendations.
  • Support development of acquisition documentation, including ASPs, ITOs, PWS content, RFP criteria, CDRLs, and technical evaluation artifacts.
  • Assist in requirements management using tools such as DOORS and RSA to support architecture development, traceability, and decision-making.
  • Provide engineering support for complex Electronic Warfare systems, resolving installation, operational, and maintenance challenges while coordinating with EW labs and intelligence centers.


Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: US Citizen

Clearance: Secret

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET) and 3 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 3 years of which must be in the DoD.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience in defining, translating, and validating system requirements, specifications, and architectures using tools like DOORS and RSA.
  • Knowledge of Avionics & EW Systems Integration (embedded systems, sensors, defensive avionics, EW equipment).
  • Ability to perform airworthiness determinations, evaluate system safety, and apply standards such as MIL-HDBK-516 and MIL-STD-882.
  • Hands-on familiarity with MIL-STD-1553, RS-232, ARINC 610, interface control documentation, and other defense acquisition engineering standards.
  • Skill in conducting technical analyses, design trade studies, survivability assessments, and system modeling/simulation.

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
