You will be the Electromechanical Design Engineer for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. Our organization designs, builds and fields precision-engagement aerospace and defense systems for the United States and allied militaries, and relies on high-performance electromechanical hardware to enable mission-critical capabilities.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Electromechanical Design Engineer, you will shape the strategy, architecture and validation of advanced circuit-card packages and interconnect solutions across the MFC portfolio. You will guide integrated product teams, mentor engineers and work hand-in-hand with systems, software, test and supply-chain partners to deliver reliable, high-density hardware on schedule and within budget. Your responsibilities will include

  • Architecting and designing advanced circuit-card packages, high-density PCBs, cable assemblies and other electromechanical interconnects that meet SWaP, security and performance constraints.
  • Developing electromechanical subsystems for prime, special and IRAD programs, including printed wiring boards, card assemblies, harnesses and sub-assemblies.
  • Conducting thermal, signal-integrity and electromagnetic-compatibility analyses to guarantee robust operation in harsh DoD environments.
  • Leading design-assurance reviews, tracking issues and driving corrective actions to closure.
  • Managing risk, schedule and earned-value metrics; reporting status and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams (systems, hardware, software, test, supply chain) to ensure seamless integration and on-time delivery.
  • Setting clear technical direction for program engineers based on customer needs and program goals.
  • Mentoring and developing engineers, fostering an inclusive culture and championing continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Producing and maintaining accurate technical documentation and configuration-control records in Lockheed Martin PLM tools.
  • Communicating technical status, risks and recommendations effectively to internal stakeholders and external customers.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master's degree or PhD preferred
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Electromechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Proficient in CREO modeling and electromechanical system design
• Proficient with CCA/PWB, cable/harness design and development, and electronic packaging design
• Technical or project leadership experience supporting the production of high-reliability electronics products
• Project leadership/management experience throughout the engineering/production lifecycle: scoping, sizing, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, tracking, and earned value management (EVM)
• Experience in presentation, oral and written communication to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges between co-workers, leaders, and customers
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
• Experience capturing flowed and derived requirements for electromechanical designs
• Must be a US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
