About the positionThis position reports to Facilities Manager and will work in Vancouver, B.C.
Vancouver:Dometic Marine's headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.
As
Electrician on the Vancouver team, you will be involved in installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical equipment, wiring, and control systems. They ensure heavy machinery runs safely, minimize production downtime, and must strictly comply with electrical codes and safety regulations. Supports ongoing production and development of new manufacturing cells and design test centers.
General ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Repair:- Set up, replace, or repair electrical wiring, conduits, switchgear, transformers, and electrical motors.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, reactors and electrical systems.
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
Troubleshooting:- Use diagnostic testing devices to pinpoint electrical/electronic failures and fix them promptly.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
Preventive Maintenance- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to prevent system breakdowns.
- Conduct maintenance programs and keep records
Reading Schematics- Interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and complex electrical drawings.
Automation- Service Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated industrial control systems
- May set up and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC), field wiring
- May install, maintain and adjust industrial instrumentation and related devices

Skills and Requirements- Completion of 5-year industrial apprenticeship program or equivalent education
- Red seal Endoresment
To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:- Additional asset, Field Safety Representative (FSR-B) Certification (not required)
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude: High proficiency in using hand/power tools and understanding mechanical systems.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment in varied indoor/outdoor industrial environments.
