Full Job Description
We are looking for an Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will pull together mechanical, electrical, and software designs to ensure they function as a cohesive system. You will ensure all details are documented and communicated to all relevant stakeholders. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Define and document electrical system-level requirements, decomposition, and traceability for multiple product lines throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Define, architect, test and integrate modules and subsystems into full vehicle systems including hardware selection
  • Conduct root cause analysis in support of vehicle integration and field operations
  • Conduct integration and developmental testing of complex electrical subsystems/interactions.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to identify issues and drive design choices
  • Create test systems to support all phases of product development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional hardware and software teams to establish interfaces.
  • Create and maintain system design documentation, including functional block diagrams, sequence diagrams, state diagrams, interface control documents, and wiring diagrams.
  • Develop communication architectures for CAN, ethernet, and serial based electrical devices
  • Plan and document power and signal interconnections between system components through definition of block diagrams and harness schematic drawings that connect electrical equipment within the vehicle

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Aerospace, or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience with design and testing of integrated hardware & software systems
  • Experience with planning, writing, and executing test procedures
  • Familiarity with common electromechanical components such as electric motors, solenoids, thermocouples, RTDs, and their specific interfacing needs.
  • Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity
  • Familiarity with common electrical bus interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, MIL-STD-1553)
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary trade studies to conclusion
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment (multimeter, power supply, oscilloscope, CANalyzer, and other analog and digital dataloggers)
  • Ability to read wiring schematics and interact with CAD software
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Understanding of DO-160 and/or MIL-STD 461/704 and relevant avionics design standards for UAS
  • Familiarity with aircraft avionics and harnessing component suppliers from past experience in UAS programs.


US Salary Range

$146,000-$253,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
