What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $35.00 - $42.00/hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:
Location & Schedule
This position is based at the Wellington Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202.
The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Occasional weekends or alternative work hours may be required. This is a field-based inspection role: work is performed at the Webb Building and at construction sites throughout the City and County of Denver as business needs require. This position is not eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
The selected candidate must provide their own vehicle to perform field inspections. The city shall reimburse employees using personal vehicles to conduct city business in accordance with the mileage rates adopted by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service for the period involved.
Please note: Downtown parking expenses are the responsibility of the employee. We offer a flexible spending account option specifically for parking; if you elect this option, you can use pre tax dollars for parking. We also offer an RTD 9eco pass019 to all City employees 013 allowing the use of public transportation for free as a City Employee.

Our CPD Team is currently seeking an Electrical Inspector to join our building inspection team. This is a non-supervisory field inspection position responsible for conducting electrical and fire alarm inspections and enforcing the Denver Building Code and applicable amendments, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and NFPA standards throughout Denver.
