The Boston office of SmithGroup is looking for a Electrical Engineer to join our team.
Working with us, you will:
- Independently provide the full range of electrical engineering services on projects and lead others in accomplishing project objectives given by a supervisor.
- Lead and perform analysis, design and documentation of medium and large building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting design and fire alarm systems.
- Effectively manage timelines and workflows of multiple complex projects assigned by supervisor.
- Create and develop planning and design concepts for complex projects in higher education, science and technology, and healthcare markets.
- Oversee design work of others and conduct quality control reviews to ensure an innovative, integrated and cohesive design.
- Mentor junior level staff and participate in performance coaching.
- Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process as requested.
- Contribute to SmithGroup sustainable design initiatives by using a variety of software to perform electrical loads, short circuit analysis, generator loads and lighting calculations.
An ideal candidate has:
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as an electrical engineer designing electrical power distribution and lighting systems for new and renovated healthcare, research lab, higher ed, and other critical building types.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- LEED AP preferred.
- Proficiency in current design software (CAD, Revit, SKM, etc.) as well as Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office.

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $113,000 to $154,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
