Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for our diverse infrastructure projects. This role involves applying electrical engineering principles to ensure the efficient and safe operation of power distribution, control systems, and related electrical components.
Job Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for various projects, including power generation, transmission, and distribution.
* Prepare detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
* Perform calculations for load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, and protective device coordination.
* Conduct site visits to gather information, assess existing conditions, and oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and structural engineers, to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans.
* Develop and implement testing procedures for electrical equipment and systems to ensure performance and reliability.
* Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions during project execution and post-completion.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
* Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and cost estimates for electrical components.
* Stay abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the heavy civil, industrial, or utilities sectors.
* Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools).
* Strong understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical standards.
* Experience with power distribution systems, control circuits, and instrumentation.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe is a plus.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
