Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking an Electrical Engineer to support substation protection and control (P&C) design and engineering efforts. This role is open to mid- to senior-level engineers with experience in utility or transmission substation projects. The position offers the opportunity to lead projects, contribute to complex system designs, and work across a variety of power infrastructure initiatives including substations, renewable energy, and grid modernization.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop protection and control systems for utility substations and transmission equipment
- Create and review engineering deliverables including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings, and SCADA configurations
- Lead engineering efforts on projects, including scope development, budgeting, and scheduling
- Perform technical studies such as fault current, coordination, and voltage analysis
- Provide oversight, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project success
- Support field activities including site visits, troubleshooting, and commissioning support
- Ensure designs meet applicable standards, specifications, and quality expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program
- 5+ years of experience in substation or power systems engineering
- Strong knowledge of protection and control systems and utility substation design
Level-Specific Requirements
- Electrical Engineer II: Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Electrical Engineer III: Substation field experience with commissioning required; PE strongly preferred
