Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with deep firmware experience to join our team. You will work closely with a team of engineers to conceptualize and commercialize innovative medical devices to meaningfully impact the lives of patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background designing, building, and testing embedded systems, including firmware design and development. This role requires a balance of creative thinking, analytical design, hands-on prototyping and testing, and systematic product development.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, build, and test connected embedded systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and performance metrics

  • Lead the design, build, and test of firmware for Endovascular Robot Design

  • Architect, design, analyze, program, implement, debug, and modify firmware

  • Translate product requirements into design specifications and verification tests

  • Design PCBAs containing analog, digital, and embedded components

  • Develop and build test fixtures, test procedures, and test scripts (e.g. Python)

  • Work independently as well as on small teams using agile methodologies

  • Collaborate with a team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate system hardware and firmware into market-ready medical device products

  • Evaluate real-world system performance with hands-on verification and validation testing

  • Adhere to project timelines to deliver on-time designs, prototypes, test results, and documentation

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

  • Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering with 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience required

  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design including signal processing, a/d, d/a, power; embedded design in C is a plus

  • Endovascular robotic design experience preferred

  • Experience with sensored and sensor less motor control techniques

  • Familiar with design for test, analyzing information, and reporting results

  • Experience with schematic capture software - Altium preferred

  • Experience with writing Firmware

  • Experience with circuit modelling software such as PSpice or LTSpice

  • Experience with PCB development including schematic, layout, building, debugging and component selection

  • Experience with NRTL safety and EMC testing in accordance with IEC 60601

  • Experience working in the medical device company is a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Motivated self-starter with good time management and organizational skills

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
