Role Overview

Our Computer-to-Plate (CTP) Output Device Team is seeking an Electrical Engineer with electro-mechanical expertise to contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of our industry-leading imaging systems onsite in Burnaby, British Columbia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of electrical, mechanical, optical, and software professionals on sophisticated products that combine precision optics, electronics, motion control, sensors, and mechanical design.

In this role, you will help improve product performance, solve complex engineering challenges, and contribute to future imaging solutions that maintain Kodak's leadership position in the global printing market.

Responsibilities:
• Electrical system design, cable harness design, building prototypes, development of test jigs and procedures for components and subassemblies related to CTP Output Devices.
• Transfer of new product designs to Production
• Provide support for product safety and EMC compliance
• Provide support for critical escalations and major changes for current products
• Provide Supply chain and incoming quality support for electrical components

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (BASc) in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent accredited engineering degree.
• 5-7 years of experience in electrical engineering within a product development environment, preferably involving motion control, industrial automation, machine design, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).

Technical Qualifications:
• Experience designing electrical systems and cable harnesses for electro-mechanical products.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems; experience with equivalent EDA/CAD tools will also be considered.
• Experience applying structured engineering design methodologies, including:
o Requirements definition and traceability
o Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
o Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
o Design verification and validation practices
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements, including CSA, UL, CE, Machinery Directive, RoHS, and REACH.
• Familiarity with Oracle Agile PLM, SAP, Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes, and manufacturing documentation practices.
