About the job you're considering The primary responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems for small robots and other ground-based vehicles according to customer requirements. Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs. Conducts research to produce design solutions, improvements, and new products. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures to junior engineer. Reports to a manager and works with Tech Lead. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.
Your Role - Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
- Designs, tests, and determines fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
- Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.
- Ensures that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Maintains regular study habits by frequently reviewing emerging technologies that improve the design, development, and testing of software programming and applications and applies technologies learned.
Your Skills and Experience - Critical: We are looking for 5+ Years of Electrical and Electronics Systems knowledge, Wiring harness design including CAD, Serial communication busses CAN, LIN & Ethernet troubleshooting, embedded module programming, and lab hands on experience.
- Important but less critical: Reverse engineering, RCA, FMEA, Safety systems and in field experience.
- Nice to have automotive experience, industrial/farm vehicles, ISO 26262 & IPC/WHMA A 620 standards knowledge.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $68,911 - $161,544.
