What You Can Expect
How You'll Create Impact
- Understand relevant medical electrical standards and regulations.
- Prepare and review information for invention disclosures and patents.
- Work with cross-functional team members to produce and inspect prototypes for preliminary evaluations, design verification and validation, and process validation.
- Create hardware specifications that define what the design is intended to do and how the design achieves this, accounting for manufacturability, in-circuit testability and inspectability.
- Identify critical product features for quality control inspection plans.
- Evaluate, verify and validate product designs relative to design requirements.
- Support Quality, Sourcing and Manufacturing teams during design transfer to production.
- Develop new test methods and/or predictive modeling as required, and complete test method validations.
- Author, review, present and manage approval of design control and risk management documentation.
- Identify and communicate project risks, determine appropriate contingency plans, and obtain supervisor approval to implement them.
- Stay current on product performance by reviewing registry data and journal articles.
- Train and mentor less experienced colleagues on product design and development.
- Provide technical support for launched products.
- Identify and develop new technologies and incorporates these in product designs leading teams with SME expertise.
