Full Job Description
As an Electrical Designer in the Oak Ridge office, you will perform a variety of electrical design functions. This includes development of facility models and construction drawings such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules and bills of materials. This also includes complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas. Lighting design includes fixture selection, model calculations which will determine lighting level for normal and emergency lighting situations. Activities could include assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials. Qualifications: - Associate's degree in engineering from a certified institution - Four (4) or more years of electrical engineering design experience - Construction support experience for Title 3 activities - Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations) - Short Circuit Analysis experience - Working knowledge of the NEC Preferred Qualifications: - DOE experience desired - NQA-1 experience desired - Lighting calculation experience - Familiarity with 3-Dimensional Applications - Knowledge of broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection - Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications is required - Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is required Work Location This position is designed to support either in-office or remote work, with a strong preference for the successful candidate to work from Amentum's office in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Employees who reside within 50 miles of Oak Ridge will be expected to work from the Oak Ridge office. Employees who live more than 50 miles away are eligible for a remote work arrangement; however, remote employees must travel to the Oak Ridge office on a quarterly basis. Those working remotely are required to maintain a company-approved secure workspace that meets all client security requirements and is located within the United States. This U.S.-based secure work location requirement applies to all projects associated with the position. Compensation Details: $30.00 - $50.00 The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
