  • Generate cost estimates, technical specifications, and design analyses for projects.
  • Represent the mechanical interests of the firm in client meetings.
  • Provide design support for electrical systems and their controls.
  • Assist in defining and developing the scope of projects involving electrical design.
  • Be open to occasional travel to project sites for on-the-ground oversight.

Full Job Description
The Electrical Design Engineer position will collaborate with a multidisciplinary A/E team and will work on municipal, land development, private, industrial, healthcare, military/defense, and other projects using Revit and AutoCAD software.

Electrical Design EngineerResponsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical design in MEP related projects working alongside and coordinating with all disciplines and clients.
  • Building system concepts and documentation process from schematics through construction administration phases.
  • Supervise the installation of the designed systems and equipment.
  • Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
  • Attend client meetings and represent the mechanical interests of the firm.
  • Design support of electrical systems and related controls.
  • Assists in determining and developing project scope.
  • This role will require occasional travel to project sites.


Electrical Design Engineer Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience designing electrical and low-voltage systems for commercial buildings, health care and federal projects required.
  • Experience with central plants, hydronic, steam/ VRF and energy recovery systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, time management required.
  • Working knowledge of building and building system codes and standards: (IBC, IECC, IMC, ASHRAE, standards and NFPA standards.
  • Design background and understanding of systems and applications in buildings and facilities, including coordination with other disciplines - mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and architectural.
  • Proficiency in Revit, building load and energy modeling software including SKM, Bluebeam, AutoCAD
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (or license in another state with the ability and commitment to obtain Texas license within 12 months.)
  • LEED accreditation (preferred).
