This role lives in our Product Development department and focuses on advancing the technical core of our product platform, with cross-collaboration into Power Systems for design support, troubleshooting, and field integration as projects demand. This is a mid-career role for someone who has already proven they can own controls scope from functional spec through commissioning.

This position requires full-time, on-site employment at our Bonita Springs, Florida headquarters. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates willing relocate to Southwest Florida.

  • Design and produce electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Develop integrated solutions using battery energy storage systems, microgrid generation, controls, and supporting infrastructure
  • Create, update, and maintain electrical and controls documentation including one-line diagrams, functional specifications, I/O lists, network architecture diagrams, HMI screen layouts, 2D drawings, and testing requirements
  • Perform electrical system planning including load analysis, distribution layouts, and wiring system specifications
  • Prepare electrical construction and technical specifications

Technology Research and Standards Compliance
  • Research and evaluate switchgear, controls, automation systems, generator paralleling, and automatic transfer solutions
  • Research utility interconnection standards and ensure all designs meet applicable utility, regulatory, and code requirements
  • Research building codes and standards to define essential design requirements for each project
  • Conduct condition assessments of existing electrical systems

Cross-Functional and Power Systems Support
  • Collaborate with the Power Systems department on design reviews, controls integration, troubleshooting, and field support as project needs arise
  • Interface with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, coordinate design changes, and support project execution
  • Support definition of project scope, budgets, and deliverables aligned with organizational goals
  • Provide technical assistance to other engineering disciplines and internal teams
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineers, utilities, contractors, consultants, and clients

Testing and Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and execute control system Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures
  • Plan, develop, and test conceptual prototypes to validate design concepts
  • Develop detailed test plans and publish test reports
  • Identify and propose new development ideas that improve availability, reliability, and value of company products and services

Additional Responsibilities
