Team Leader, Electric Distribution (PE) to join our team in our Houston, Texas office location. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a passion for technical excellence, team development, client relationships, and business growth.
The ideal candidate will have
10+ years of experience managing the design and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution systems for cooperatives, municipalities, or investor-owned utilities.

What you will do:- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Electric Distribution team by providing technical guidance, coaching, and leadership.
- Manage team performance, workload planning, staffing, quality, profitability, and overall operational success.
- Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution projects ranging from moderate to complex in scope.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Direct project managers and technical staff while maintaining accountability for project execution and client satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and support strategic growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with company leadership to align team goals with business objectives and market opportunities.
- Manage project budgets, contracts, schedules, resources, and subconsultants.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and project delivery.
- Support work-sharing efforts across Halff offices and practices to maximize resources and client success.
- Make sound business, project, and personnel decisions while fostering a positive team culture.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
What you will need:- Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Valid driver's license.
- 10+ years of experience managing the design and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and electric utility design software.
- Experience with CAD-based and GIS-based design tools for electric power infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards, including NESC and NEC.
- Demonstrated success leading projects, managing teams, and delivering high-quality client solutions.
- Proven business development and client relationship management experience.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, leadership, and technical teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work from or near one of Halff's Texas office locations.
