Job DescriptionStepan is looking for an EHS&S Manager at our Elwood, IL facility.
Responsibilities: - Provide effective leadership to the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Dept. through effective management of the Department's resources to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Prioritize and manage to protect people, processes, products and the environment from exposures to injury, risk or economic loss.
- Partners effectively with internal departments to identify and implement process improvements for EHS programs.
- Develop, deploy, and deliver EHSS behavior, safety culture and critical EHS leadership strategies and programs.
- Oversee the site emergency response team that handles fire, hazmat, confined space rescue, medical, and other site emergencies.
- Develop EHS staff through guidance, development planning, coaching, training and resource planning.
- Oversee and manage the sites Process Safety Management (PSM) system program such as PHA methodology and leadership including HAZOP and LOPA and other quantitative risk assessment methodologies; mechanical integrity (process equipment and design, inherently safe design and RAGAGEP, preventive maintenance, testing and inspection); programmable and safety integrated systems integrity; operating procedures and consequence of deviation management: emergency response and mitigating technologies such as fire prevention and protection; incident investigation and root cause analysis; facility siting; management of change; process safety information management; safe work practices.
Qualifications- 10 years of experience.
- Proven experience establishing and managing EHS systems with a thorough knowledge of concepts, tools, and methodologies of EHS management.
- Demonstrated outstanding collaboration and communication skills and leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Illinois and USEPA laws and regulations (air, wastewater, waste, DOT, and any other applicable regulations) and required reports
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA VPP and ACC RCMS management systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of United States Coastguard MARSEC security regulations.
Education- Bachelor's degree required - science, engineering, occupational safety or environmental related discipline preferred
Pay Range: $117,000 - $170,000The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
