Position Summary

The EHS Engineer III serves as a senior technical resource responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Teleflex requirements. This role partners with site leadership, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D teams to identify and mitigate risks, support regulatory compliance, manage environmental and occupational safety programs, and drive a culture of Zero Harm. The position independently manages EHS projects, compliance initiatives, audits, training programs, contractor oversight, and EHS management systems while providing technical expertise and guidance to support safe, sustainable, and efficient business operations. Additionally, the role administers key EHS compliance tools and processes, including Agile documentation workflows, Brady 360 audits, EPAC preventive maintenance activities, SAP purchasing support, and OSHA compliance programs.

Principal Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, procedures, and management systems in alignment with Teleflex standards, ISO 14001/45001 requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Serve as a technical EHS resource to site leadership, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D teams by identifying risks, evaluating compliance requirements, and recommending effective solutions to support safe and sustainable operations.
• Manage environmental compliance programs and reporting activities, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste, wastewater, stormwater, chemical management, radiation safety, community right-to-know reporting, permits, and other regulatory obligations.
• Conduct risk assessments, inspections, audits, Gemba walks, and incident investigations to proactively identify hazards / EHS nonconformities, EHS opportunities for improvement, determine root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs to ensure employee and contractor compliance with OSHA requirements, Teleflex standards, PPE standards, chemical safety programs, emergency response procedures, and other site-specific EHS requirements.
• Support industrial hygiene, occupational health, chemical hygiene, bloodborne pathogen, and exposure monitoring programs to ensure compliance and employee well-being.
• Participate in capital projects, facility modifications, equipment installations, and Management of Change (MOC) activities to ensure EHS risks are identified, evaluated, and appropriately controlled throughout project execution.
• Administer and maintain EHS management systems and compliance tools, including Agile documentation workflows (NCEs, COs, WIs), Brady 360 audits and updates, EPAC preventive maintenance activities, compliance calendars, EHS improvement registers / action tracking systems,
• incident investigation management modules, inspection software modules, corrective action tracking, and performance metrics.
• Coordinate EHS-related contractor and vendor activities, including contractor safety oversight,
• vendor qualification, service management, and shared support with Facilities. Manage SAP purchasing activities including purchase requisitions, vendor setup requests, invoice follow-up, and resolution of payment issues for EHS-related goods and services.
• Support sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship programs by identifying opportunities to reduce waste, energy consumption, water usage, and overall environmental impact while tracking and reporting performance metrics.
• Coordinate facility and laboratory EHS programs, including CEA cleaning programs, training requirements, housekeeping standards, emergency preparedness activities, and regulatory inspections.
• Collect, analyze, and communicate EHS performance data, compliance status, audit findings, and improvement initiatives to site leadership and regional EHS management, while leading EHS projects and driving a culture of continuous improvement and Zero Harm

Education / Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or post graduate level with a core focus closely related to EHS management and 5+ years EH&S management controls experience
Or
• Bachelor's degree or post graduate level with an Engineering or Manufacturing focus and 5+ years EHS management experience
• Preferred Occupational Safety & Health Professional Certifications: CSP Certification (US), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations, standards and best practices (EPA, MPCA, DOT, OSHA, MNOSHA, NFPA, ANSI, ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
• Strong knowledge and experience with office-related applications; Microsoft Office suite, teleconference software (Webex, MS Teams, Zoom).
• Ability to source and interpret relevant, published best practice controls and standards before offering advice
• Experience with EHS-related software a plus (Benchmark/Gensuite)
• Occupational Health / Safety Hazard and Environmental Aspects identification, HOC corrective action identification and resolution skillsets (Performing Risk Assessments)
• Incident Investigation and Root Cause analysis skillset
• Clear and analytical thinking facilitating assessment of both EHS and wider business risk
• Confidence and effective decision-making regarding escalations, notifications and where justified: whistle blowing.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $87,400- $131,100, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
