The EHS Care Specialist (Nurse) integrates employee health services with workplace safety programs to support employee well-being and reduce operational risk. In this role, you will serve as a trusted resource and advocate for employees and the company by promoting optimal health, safety, and well-being across the organization.

• Assess, conservatively treat, refer when appropriate, and document occupational and emergent non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Perform medical surveillance and licensing exams, including pre-employment, fitness-for-duty, powered industrial equipment, DOT physicals, and OSHA-required exams.
• Administer occupational medical program policies in alignment with company health services policies.
• Maintain Medical Department equipment and supplies while operating within budget guidelines.
• Administer the plant’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
• Coordinate modified or light-duty assignments that align with injured employees’ physical capabilities and support rehabilitation and timely return to work.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local occupational health and workplace safety laws, regulations, and best practices, as well as all required professional licensure and certifications.
• Partner with site leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace health and safety risks and integrate health and safety programs into site management systems.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, prevention strategies, risk assessments, and business planning activities.
• Analyze health and safety data to identify trends, measure performance, and inform strategic decisions.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety training that strengthens employee awareness, engagement, regulatory compliance, and the site’s safety culture.
• Implement company-provided wellness programs and develop site-specific health and wellness initiatives based on employee health risks and demographics.
• Connect employees with appropriate Campbell’s resources, including the Employee Assistance Program, through promotions, group education, individual consultations, and referrals.
• Maintain high ethical standards, positive employee relations, accurate documentation, and strict confidentiality while delivering high-quality medical care and counsel.
• Apply Workers’ Compensation regulations and case management practices to improve understanding and compliance, reduce recovery time and cost, and support return-to-work outcomes.
• Use clinical judgment and strong communication skills to manage stressful situations, complete accurate assessments, and provide or recommend appropriate care.

You will partner with the Site EHS Manager, facility leadership, department supervisors, and cross-functional teams. You will also collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, other health professionals, and third-party providers to promote employee health and wellness, support effective case management, and strengthen workplace safety.

• Registered Nurse with an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Current AHA or Red Cross CPR/AED certification.
• Minimum of five years of nursing experience in an occupational health or emergency room setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgment and the ability to manage crisis situations.
• Knowledge of state Workers’ Compensation law, OSHA requirements, and other occupational health regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Additional certification in areas such as spirometry, audiometry, OSHA 30, environmental compliance, and/or drug and alcohol test collection.

Compensation and Benefits:
