What is the Opportunity?The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power's Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power's CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has been awarded contracts for Unit 5, 7, and 8 for steam generator replacements as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor reports to the Project Safety Manager and/or the EHS Lead.
What You'll Do Here:- Support project-specific conventional safety and environmental management plans and procedures, including inspections, audits, observation and coaching, Worker Trades Committee, and JHSC.
- Train project staff in the requirements of conventional safety procedures.
- Track and report safety-related statistics and manage Return to Work and Modified Duties cases at the field level.
- Support additional detailed requirements as outlined in the Project Specific EHS and related programs.
- Support Human Performance program activities.
- Assist in the development of JSA, High Hazard, Critical Lifting and Handling forms and audit the same in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Team:- A designation such as CHSO or CRSP strongly preferred.
- Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field.
- Minimum 5 years of senior experience in Health and Safety within the nuclear construction industry.
- Understanding of Emergency Planning and Hot Work Procedures.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- A team player who accepts and can manage change regularly.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors' safety performance.
Physical Demands- Repetitive movement.
- Various work locations in both field and office environments.
- Ability to work on a project site.
- Ability to work a variety of shift schedules ranging from 8 to 12 hours, including weekends, days, nights, and holidays.
- Able to perform in a demanding environment.
- Travel to site locations will be required and include walking long distances on rough terrain, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, and stopping for long and short periods of time.
- Radiological environments.
- Work in respirators (assorted types) and plastic suits (must be clean shaven, as required).

Salary range: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
