Full Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a DISTRICT SALES MANAGER, MarSurf3D, for an outside technical sales role based in the Detroit metropolitan area. The assigned territory includes the Midwest and Central regions of the United States. This position reports directly to the Director of Technical & Strategic Sales.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in the technical sales of non-contact surface metrology solutions, with demonstrated expertise in 3D optical measurement technologies, surface characterization, and related manufacturing processes and applications. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of micro-contour, roughness, waviness, and profile metrology, as well as the analysis and interpretation of surface texture data in support of customer applications in a sales role.

Candidates should have practical knowledge of industry standards and methodologies, including ISO 21920, ISO 4287, ASME B46.1, ISO 25178, and related surface metrology standards. Experience selling surface metrology instrumentation and solutions into manufacturing, quality assurance, research and development, and process optimization environments is highly desirable.

The District Sales Manager, MarSurf3D will be responsible for promoting and selling MarSurf3D products throughout the assigned territory, driving revenue growth through new business development, strategic account management and channel partner engagement. The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong customer relationships, identify and qualify new opportunities, execute a consultative technical sales process in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical devices, precision manufacturing, semiconductors, and advanced materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Territory Management: Develop and execute sales plans for the assigned district, identify current key accounts while placing a strong emphasis on cultivating new customers within existing and emerging market segments.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and customers to understand their needs and offer appropriately tailored solutions. Daily auto travel (up to 80% of the time, with occasional overnight travel) within the district territory.
  • Channel Partners: Support and educate the distribution network with ongoing technical assistance, quotes, new product updates, demonstrations, and promotions, to ensure they are prepared to successfully promote the Mahr brand.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay in tune with industry trends, competitor activities, and new product developments to effectively position Mahr metrology equipment in the market.
  • Forecasting: Daily utilization of Salesforce® CRM, create opportunities, events, tasks for all activities related to engagement and management of the district.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer support, and product development, to ensure a cohesive and customer-centric outcome.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 + years of proven outside sales experience within dimensional metrology or closely related industry (outside sales experience of industrial capital equipment will also be considered).
  • Leadership skills to support distribution channels and representative personnel is preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and selling skills, along with the ability to create and develop lasting relationships with both customers and colleagues.
  • High level of self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Based from your home office, must be able and willing to travel up to 80% of the time, within the assigned district.
