Full Job Description
We are looking for a Distribution Manager who will join our Supply Chain team in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

The Distribution Manager is responsible for logistical oversight for Scotts Miracle-Gro products and goods, including but not limited to managing third-party logistics, interprovincial and international transportation, distribution, the Commonwealth Handling Equipment Pool (CHEP), and extremely knowledgeable of government legislative compliance. The incumbent, will empower team members to achieve business objectives by hiring the right people, developing, coaching and retaining top talent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees Contracted companies in all facets of the distribution operation to ensure products get properly picked, packaged, and delivered to customers on time;
  • Responsible for transportation tendering processes, ensuring controls and approvals are upheld;
  • Implements and oversees direct to consumer ecommerce shipping through both third party and Sotts run Distribution centres
  • Administers inter-provincial and international shipping operations (road, rail), and associated governmental compliances;
  • Act as a change agent by analyzing and making improvement recommendations to established processes and procedures in the distribution of Finished goods and Packaging materials for all Distribution and delivery operations;
  • Administers key performance indicators related to freight, fuel costs and associated operational expenditures;
  • Strong focus on continuous improvements and streamlining processes for efficiencies while promoting best practices;
  • Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems;
  • Working closely with distribution channels and third party logistics partners and facilities;
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, training and/or safety records;
  • Manages multiple facilities in Canada, while overseeing distribution centre contracts and operating budgets;


Job Requirements
  • A postsecondary degree in engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership capacity, managing a team of logistics and distribution professionals;
  • Ability to communicate in English and French a strong asset;
  • Knowledge in Six Sigma and Lean Practice an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively on a team and with a wide range of individuals;
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal & negotiation skills, management ability, leadership, teamwork and judgement;
  • Diplomacy, tact and decision making ability;
  • Planning & organization skills.


The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $100 600,00 - $125 700,00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs.
