Full Job Description
The Director of System Laboratory Services provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for laboratory services across Aspirus Health. This position is responsible for the development and execution of a standardized, high-performing laboratory operating model that advances quality, safety, service excellence, workforce sustainability, technology optimization, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and growth. Working collaboratively with physicians, pathologists, regional leaders, and executive stakeholders, the Director drives system integration, reduces operational variation, expands access, and positions laboratory services to support Aspirus Health's long-term strategic objectives. Experience/Qualifications • Knowledge of standards and practices, normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in a clinical field. • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related healthcare field required. • Master's degree in business or a health-related field, strongly preferred. • Possesses and maintains active Medical Laboratory Scientist certification or Medical Laboratory Technologist certification. • A minimum of five years' management experience as director or manager of laboratory. • Minimum of five years of progressive laboratory leadership experience, including multi-site operations, strategic planning, financial management, and organizational transformation. • Demonstrated experience leading multi-site laboratory operations, system integration, standardization, or enterprise-level operational improvement. • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment with regional, hospital, clinic, physician, pathology, finance, IT, supply chain, and executive stakeholders. • Knowledge of laboratory regulatory/accreditation requirements, laboratory information systems, quality management, operational dashboards, workforce planning, and financial performance management. • Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, evaluate capital and technology investments, lead change management, and advance growth or diversification opportunities. • Strong strategic thinking, communication, data analysis, collaboration, and execution skills. • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
