Full Job Description
Role Overview
The Director, Supply Chain & Logistics owns Geoforce's end-to-end hardware supply chain, from contract manufacturing through delivery to customers worldwide. The role has two pillars: managing our third-party contract manufacturers (CMs) and running logistics, inventory and procurement.
Reporting to the CFO, this leader balances cost, quality and on-time delivery while keeping working capital in check, and partners closely with Engineering, Product, Sales, Customer Success and Finance. The role leads a team of three in Plano and directs inventory and fulfillment activity at our international locations.
Own relationships with all third-party contract manufacturers, including selection, onboarding, contract negotiation and quarterly business reviews.
Own demand planning and translate it into build plans, capacity commitments and material requirements (MRP).
Manage bills of materials (BOMs) with Engineering, including revision control, engineering change orders (ECOs), component availability and end-of-life risk.
Drive product cost management: standard costs, should-cost analysis, supplier resourcing, cost-reduction roadmaps and annual pricing negotiations.
Ensure CMs meet Geoforce quality and certification requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, FCC, CE, IC, PTCRB, ATEX/IECEx and carrier certifications), and lead corrective action (CAPA) when they do not.
Set and track CM scorecards: on-time delivery, yield, defect rates, cost variance and responsiveness.
Build supply resilience through dual sourcing, buffer strategies and contingency plans for component shortages, tariffs and geopolitical risk.
Lead new product introduction and product transitions, from prototype and pilot builds through ramp, including legacy wind-down and last-time buys.
Logistics, Inventory and Procurement
Direct shipping and receiving operations, including domestic and international freight, carrier selection and rate negotiation.
Manage global trade compliance: import/export documentation, HTS classification, customs brokers, duties, tariffs and Incoterms across the US, Canada, Australia, Brazil and other markets.
Own inventory across all locations and third-party warehouses, including consignment stock and intercompany replenishment: cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliation, obsolescence reserves and RMA/returns flows.
Design, document and continuously improve inventory and fulfillment processes and controls, in partnership with Finance.
Oversee purchase order generation and the full procure-to-pay cycle, working with Accounting on three-way match and accruals.
Lead strategic procurement of components, finished goods, partner hardware, SIMs and connectivity, packaging and logistics services, including supplier negotiation and contract terms.
Manage procurement and fulfillment of partner-sourced hardware, including direct-to-customer drop-ship orders.
Maintain ERP/MRP system accuracy for items, BOMs, inventory and purchasing data (e.g., NetSuite).
Leadership, KPIs and Cross-Functional Partnership
Lead, coach and develop a team of three, setting clear goals and holding the team accountable for results.
Define, report and improve supply chain KPIs to the CFO and leadership team, such as:
On-time delivery and order fill rate
Inventory accuracy, turns and days of supply
Product cost and purchase price variance (PPV)
CM yield, quality and scorecard results
Freight cost as a percentage of revenue
Supplier and PO lead times
Run the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process with Sales, Product and Finance.
Own the supply chain budget, and support annual planning, forecasting and month-end inventory close.
Partner with Engineering and Product on design-for-manufacturability and cost targets for new hardware.
Champion Geoforce's values of Do Right, Own It, Seek Simplicity and Drive Results across the supply chain.
