General Summary:
The Role

QStudio is looking for a Director of Studio Management & Creative Operations to lead the studio's operational backbone: resourcing, budgets, embedded studio support, workflow, tooling, and the systems that keep a fast-moving in-house agency organized and ready to scale.

You'll partner with the VP of Creative and the leads of Brand Expression, Campaign Creative, and Xperience, and Creative Production to keep teams aligned, properly resourced, and equipped to deliver at a high bar.

Creative leadership owns the quality of the final creative output. This role owns the operational conditions that make that quality possible, treating excellence as a shared responsibility-not something traded off for speed or cost.

What You'll Do
  • Own resourcing and workflow across QStudio, balancing capacity against demand by function and product line.
  • Build and manage studio budgets, including spend tracking, forecasting, and leadership reporting.
  • Stand up embedded studio support for specific functions and product lines, including Snapdragon, Dragonwing, and Dragonfly.
  • Prioritize internal talent as the core model, with agency support planned as overflow.
  • Define how work enters the studio and shape the in-house agency operating model.
  • Drive adoption of AI and creative technology across production workflows.
  • Build and document the studio's operating systems, including intake, briefing, approvals, handoffs, and onboarding.
  • Run the cross-functional infrastructure that launches depend on, including NPI coordination across Qualcomm and partner launches such as F1 and Manchester United.
  • Manage stakeholder alignment by translating business priorities into resourcing and timeline decisions.
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks before they become blockers.

Responsibilities
Resourcing & Workflow
  • Maintain real-time visibility into capacity across Brand Expression, Campaign Creative, and Xperience.
  • Build resourcing models that flex with demand while prioritizing internal talent as the long-term model.
  • Own intake and prioritization so work enters the studio through one clear front door.
  • Flag capacity gaps early, before they become delivery risks.

Budget & Financial Oversight
  • Build and manage the QStudio operating budget with the VP of Creative.
  • Track actuals against budget and forecast resourcing by quarter.
  • Evaluate vendor and freelance spend against in-house capacity to guide build-versus-buy decisions.

Embedded Support & Agency Workflow
  • Design the embedded creative support model by function and product line.
  • Set service levels for embedded support.
  • Balance embedded capacity against a centralized pool for surge work.
  • Document the agency handoff model so it is consistent across product lines.

AI & Creative Technology
  • Own the evaluation and rollout of AI and creative tools across production workflows.
  • Track and report adoption, time savings, and impact.

Process & Documentation
  • Build onboarding paths for new team members and partners.
  • Document intake, briefing, review, approval, and handoff as living systems.
  • Refine process based on what is actually slowing teams down.

Launch Infrastructure
  • Coordinate NPI across Qualcomm and partner launches.
  • Run code-freeze practices for interactive builds ahead of launch.
  • Build data clean room infrastructure: an encrypted, PII-scrubbed environment for centralizing first-party data across creative, research, and partner teams, with an eye toward AI tools such as psychographic dashboards and synthetic audiences.

Stakeholder Alignment
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for cross-functional partners.
  • Translate business priorities into resourcing and timeline decisions.
  • Represent QStudio's capacity and constraints honestly in planning.

What Success Looks Like
  • Teams know what they are working on, why it matters, and when it is due.
  • Budgets are predictable, with no financial surprises for leadership.
  • AI and new tooling are adopted deliberately, with measurable impact.
  • New hires and partners rely on clear documentation instead of tribal knowledge.
  • Launches run as coordinated events, not fire drills.
  • QStudio scales its output without scaling chaos.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 10+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
OR
High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience
  • 8-10+ years in creative operations, production management, or brand/marketing operations across in-house and agency environments.
  • 3+ years leading producers, project managers, or resourcing/operations staff.
  • Track record of building or scaling a resourcing model, intake process, or studio operating system from scratch.
  • Experience owning departmental or studio-level budgets, including forecasting, spend tracking, and leadership reporting.
  • Experience managing the interface between in-house creative and external agencies, including build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Experience rolling out new production tools or technology; AI-assisted creative tools are a strong plus.
  • Experience supporting large-scale product or campaign launches with cross-functional or external-partner coordination.

Skills & Tools
  • Fluency with project and resource management platforms such as Workfront
  • Strong knowledge of creative production workflows across video, design, and digital/interactive.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across creative, marketing, legal, and data teams.

Education
  • MBA a plus
