This Role is Tailor-Made for You Because: The Director, Store Design, directs the full store design process for Full Price, Off Price, and Travel Retail, and Wholesale formats across international markets. This role combines creative problem‑solving, technical design expertise, and disciplined project management to deliver elevated retail environments that reflect the brand’s identity and meet business, operational, and regional requirements. The ideal candidate is a strategic and solutions oriented leader, guiding teams through complex planning and design challenges by mobilizing resources, evaluating multiple pathways forward, and driving resolution that balances brand integrity, cost and timeline.

A Day in the Life:

This role serves as a strategic leader responsible for the end-to-end delivery of global store design projects, overseeing the full project lifecycle from concept development through construction and store opening across multiple regions and formats. The position partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Retail, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, IT, Construction, and international teams to develop innovative design solutions that balance brand integrity, operational requirements, customer experience, timelines, and budget objectives.

The role is accountable for driving complex design, planning, and construction decisions, translating business and operational needs into scalable spatial solutions, and ensuring adherence to global design standards while adapting to local market requirements. Responsibilities include managing project budgets and schedules, maintaining design standards, reviewing architectural and construction documentation, guiding landlord approvals, evaluating design and fixture specifications, and ensuring successful execution of store environments that support both brand presentation and commercial objectives.

 

Additionally, the role serves as a key problem solver and thought partner, proactively identifying risks, developing multiple solution pathways, and aligning stakeholders around decisions that maintain project momentum and design excellence. Through strong industry expertise, vendor relationships, and cross-functional influence, this position drives enterprise-level outcomes, supports global growth initiatives, and mentors junior team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

 

To Land This Role:

• Bachelor’s degree. Architecture or interior design degree preferred but not required
• 12 years of experience in Retail architecture, store design, or multi-site project
• Leadership- experience leading, managing, mentoring an internal team as well as outside consultants
• Experience in both traditional design firms and field construction strongly preferred
• Portfolio showcasing both conceptual design, custom millwork, built project experience
• Ability to develop concept sketches and design detailing efficiently within tight timelines
• Experience supporting international retail markets preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and follow‑up skills
• Comfortable collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones and working flexibly as needed to support international meetings and project timelines.
• Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects across varying phases

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross functional team environment.

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is 160,000.00 USD - 205,000.00 USD. Our offer will be based on your relevant experience and work location.
