Our Team, Your Impact

Reporting to the Vice President of Search and Evaluation, the Director will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and advancing external innovation opportunities aligned with Teva's strategic priorities. This individual will contribute to the sourcing and advancement of external opportunities including assets and technology platforms relevant to Teva's priority therapeutic areas for Innovative Medicine that includes Neuroscience and Immunology & Inflammation (I&I).

The Director will work cross-functionally to support evaluation and decision-making processes, contributing insights and analyses that inform investment and partnering decisions. This role is ideal for a scientifically strong and collaborative professional with growing experience in external innovation and business development.

How You'll Spend Your Day

  • Conduct proactive scouting to identify early-stage and advanced assets, platforms, and technologies from biotech companies, academic institutions, and other innovation sources aligned with Teva's R&D strategy.
  • Build and develop an external network across biotech, academic, and innovation ecosystems to stay informed on emerging science and market trends.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, clinical, commercial, regulatory, and finance) to support structured evaluation of external opportunities.
  • Contribute to the assessment of scientific data, including preclinical and clinical datasets, to evaluate asset quality and potential.
  • Support diverse aspects of scientific diligence including analysis of mechanisms of action/disease relevance, development feasibility, differentiation etc.
  • Prepare clear, data-driven summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders to support investment and partnering decisions.
  • Contribute to business case development, working in partnership with the Transaction counterparts
  • Support the development and refinement of Search & Evaluation processes, tools, and best practices to enhance consistency and efficiency.
  • Represent Teva at selected industry conferences and maintain awareness of external innovation trends.
  • Collaborate effectively within the Search & Evaluation team and contribute to a high-performing, team-oriented culture.


Your Skills and Experience

  • Ph.D., M.D., or Pharm.D. in Life Sciences (preferably with academic degrees obtained based on research carried out in areas related to Neuroscience or Immunology); advanced business training (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
  • ~8-12 years of relevant experience in biotech/pharma, including experience in Search & Evaluation, Business Development, or related scientific/strategic roles.
  • Strong scientific foundation with the ability to interpret data across discovery, translational, and clinical stages.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and contribute to matrixed teams. Demonstrated project management/leadership skills to lead/manage cross-functional teams in evaluating external opportunities and producing high quality assessments
  • Passion to drive projects to deliver timely results and follow through on internal and external commitments
  • Familiarity with multiple therapeutic modalities, especially relevant to Teva's therapeutic areas of interest
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights, effectively convey business strategies and capabilities internally and externally and foster cross-functional consensus-building.
  • Experience using competitive intelligence tools, deal databases, and literature platforms.

Salary Range

The annual starting salary for this position is between $173,440 - 216,800 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
