Role OverviewThe Director - BDRM is an integral role focused on relationship management & business development supporting IFDS' internal & external stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Vice President-BDRM this role supports and manages related existing client relationships as assigned, is actively engaged and contributing to all revenue generation opportunities, within current and future service offerings. The incumbent also manages the delivery of our services and solutions tailored to our clients' needs and project requirements. This role collaborates across IFDS's service teams to ensure that the client needs are supported with the highest quality solutions. Key to this role is the ability to present our business solutions concisely and clearly to prospects.
Role ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Revenue Generation (50%)
- Maintains and develops relationships with prospects and Clients for the purposes of expanding the business and delivering assigned solutions, or managing aspects of business development
- Participates in solution identification and implementation for assigned prospects/clients
- Actively participates in identifying prospects in the region and meeting the expectations with sales with the direction of SVP - BDRM and follow up with the assigned prospects
- Ability to research and analyze to contribute to the in-depth of understanding and knowledge of the assigned regions and provide regular updates to the SVP - BDRM
- Progresses pre-identified proposal opportunities, developing content, presentations, schedules, and other artifacts, as needed, under the direction of the SVP - Business Development & Relationship Management
- Engage subject matter experts across the organization and key functions in the strategic solutions planning in discussions with prospects
- Strong presentation skills and ability to demonstrate IFDS solutions and business value proposition clearly and concisely to prospects
- Attend Sales and industry conferences in the regions and connect with prospects in advance to facilitate meetings for the SVP - BDRM.
Client Oversight Management (50%)
- Develops multiple effective relationships within a Client's team
- Maintains comprehensive view of client status and intervenes as required to manage escalations and resolve issues. Resolves key issues, possible escalations, problems and opportunities with their Clients' business
- Provides effective oversight of all key initiatives and projects for assigned Clients
- Through effective and proactive communication mitigates against unnecessary escalation by Clients and manages their concerns
- Provides oversight for all operational and project-based service levels
- Collaborates with Account Management, Operations and Technology team to provide a consolidated view of the Client's account and developing, maintaining and a supporting governance structure internally and externally
Proactively manages the client experience at all management levels within IFDS
- Works with key stakeholders internally to develop appropriate action plans and responses
- Where necessary mobilizes key people within IFDS and the Client to address critical issues and challenges
- Continually updates CRM with all assigned prospects, changes to the status as well as new Client activity and contacts
- Actively monitors progress of all action plans and responses associated with their Client and prospects on key issues, challenges and opportunities
- Builds professional relationships with prospects, clients and other business partners
Minimum Qualifications- 10+ years within the Financial Services Transfer Agency or adjacent businesses such as Fund Accounting and Asset Management operations and technology, in a sales, client-facing, or relationship management role
- Proficiency in either (English/French) or (English/Spanish) languages both written and verbal preferred
- Strong business development and account management experience, with a demonstrated consultative approach and a track record of originating and growing partnerships withing the financial services industry (Mutual Funds and associated products)
- Superior interpersonal skill to interact with senior business professionals
- Flexible to travel abroad as required
- In-depth understanding of IFDS products and capabilities; a related CSI or Financial Services designation is an asset
- Solid technical knowledge of IFDS applications (including iFast, IFWP, etc)
- Understanding of investment concepts and the ability to communicate a working knowledge of investment strategies and products
- Demonstrated proficiency in communicating complex business solutions with clients and internal stakeholders
- Possesses an understanding of business and revenue models that are applicable to financial services
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills including good decision making and multi-tasking abilities
- Team player with ability to evidence leadership, credibility, and build consensus
- Highly analytical with a very high degree of attention to detail systematically researches information and explores
- High level of competency with MS suite, including but not limited to; Excel, Visio, Word, Powerpoint.
- Ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders across a number of different functional areas
Salary RangePay Range (CAD $): 120,000 - 152,000
The above reflects an industry-benchmarked target compensation range. The salary offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business needs.
