Director, Project Management - Operations

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Project Management - Operations to lead the planning, management and execution of key initiatives across our multi-site healthcare model. The Director will be responsible for projects, some technical in nature, aimed at improving processes and operational efficiency, enhancing patient retention, patient care and the patient experience, and growing revenue across all dental practices by collaborating with key stakeholders. A critical expectation of this role is to deliver measurable improvements in the patient journey, operational efficiency, and revenue. The role reports to InterDent's Chief Operating Officer.

This position can be based out of El Segundo, CA or Vancouver, WA.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Project Leadership: Lead specific, high-priority initiatives that are tied to organizational strategy while implementing a comprehensive project management strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources effectively, and oversee execution from initiation through completion.
  2. Mid-Funnel Optimization (Call Center, Conversational AI, Online Scheduling, CRM, & Patient Engagement Services): Lead initiatives to strengthen operations infrastructure, integration points, data flows, and analytics across operational systems and vendor platforms. Expand omni-channel communication and patient engagement services to capture leads, convert them to appointments, and retain patients for ongoing care. Identify opportunities to optimize the patient journey and implement strategies to improve revenue capture and patient satisfaction.
  3. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities, develop strategies, leverage new and existing technologies - including AI and Denticon (PMS) - to support best-in-class operations to increase efficiency, optimize resource planning, impact revenue growth, patient retention and patient satisfaction
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication across departments, including Marketing, sites, technology partners, and vendors to ensure alignment and coordination of project activities. Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, clarify technical dependencies, and manage expectations.
  5. Resource Planning and Management: Become a thought partner to help facilitate resource planning to support project initiatives. Monitor resource utilization and recommend adjustments as needed to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively. Monitor project progress and performance metrics to identify deviations from plan and take corrective action.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, managers, staff, and external partners, to ensure alignment and support for project objectives. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, milestones, and outcomes.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and best practice sharing to enhance project delivery capabilities.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on healthcare, retail, of multisite operations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project goals
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands effectively
  • Sound judgement and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to lead operational projects with technical components, including system integrations, APIs, data flow mapping, workflow automation, and operational data infrastructure
  • Ability to translate business and operational requirements into clear functional and technical requirements for IT, analytics, and vendor partners
