Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a Product Manager, Private Credit Data Products based out of our New York office.
About the Role
Private credit is one of the fastest-growing corners of the capital markets, and the data infrastructure hasn't kept up. We're building data products that close that gap for direct lenders, CLO managers, credit funds, and institutional investors. This role owns the product direction for our Private Credit data suite, from instrument-level datasets to the workflows and platform capabilities that deliver them. You'll partner with Engineering, Data, Design, Sales, and Customer teams to decide what to build, validate it with clients, ship it, and measure whether it worked.
The core of what we're building: combining market-leading legal analysis with AI-supported document extraction to curate structured data products and covenant analysis workflows across US and European private credit. The product roadmap also incorporates private monitored ratings data from Fitch Ratings, creating a view of the private credit landscape that doesn't exist today. This PM decides what ships, in what order, and how those pieces reach clients.
The ideal candidate has real private credit domain knowledge and the product instincts to turn that into data products clients depend on. You'll own the full lifecycle: discovery, requirements, trade-offs, delivery, launch, and iteration, and you'll be measured on adoption, data quality, revenue contribution and client satisfaction.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Own the Private Credit Data Roadmap
Define what gets built, in what order, and why. Set OKRs tied to coverage depth, data quality SLAs, and revenue contribution. Make prioritization calls with clear rationale and documented trade-offs.
Lead Discovery and Shape What We Build
Bring deep knowledge of Private Credit markets and run continuous customer discovery with direct lenders, CLO managers, and credit funds. Translate workflow friction into product bets, not feature requests. Validate before build, measure after launch.
Ship and Iterate
Drive agile delivery end-to-end: requirements through release. Translate needs into PRDs, epics, user stories and acceptance criteria, own sprint planning, backlog sequencing, and manage delivery risk directly with Engineering and Data leadership. Own adoption and retention metrics post-launch and use them to decide what to double down on or kill.
Go-to-Market
Support product launches and sales enablement. Partner with Sales to position new capabilities and close feedback loops with clients post-launch.
What Makes This Role Different
Private credit data doesn't work like public markets data. Source documents are unstructured and inconsistent across originators. Coverage is never complete. Clients need speed and accuracy on instruments where neither comes easy. You'll own the product decisions that determine how we close those gaps: what to automate, what to curate manually, where to invest in coverage vs. depth, and how to build data products that hold up when the answer isn't in a filing.
You'll also be working at the intersection of two assets no competitor can combine: Covenant analysis operation producing structured data from private credit agreements, and proprietary Fitch Ratings credit signals on the same borrowers. The product challenge is turning that combination into something clients use daily, not just something that looks good on a capability slide.
You May Be a Good Fit if You Have:
• 7+ years in product management, ideally in financial services, financial information services, or FinTech
• Hands-on experience with private credit data: you know why facility-level terms don't standardize across direct lending docs, how amendment and PIK toggle mechanics change economics mid-life, and why coverage and timeliness are harder in private markets than public
• Familiarity with the private credit lifecycle from origination through structuring, servicing, and amendments, including how direct lending documentation differs from broadly syndicated loan facilities. You should understand both sides of the workflow: GP-side (origination, structuring, portfolio monitoring) and investor-side (screening, benchmarking, regulatory reporting), because the products you build will serve both
• A track record of driving initiatives from discovery through delivery across cross-functional teams
• Experience applying AI/ML to data problems in production: document extraction, entity resolution, automated enrichment, or anomaly detection on unstructured source material
What Would Make You Stand Out:
• Experience building or managing commercial data products in credit, loans, or private markets
• Familiarity with how AI agents consume data products: tool design, semantic APIs, entitlement-aware retrieval vs. traditional UI-first delivery
• Experience spanning both data products and platform/website capabilities
• Familiarity with UX/UI principles and design thinking
• You benchmark against the best private credit data products in market and know where we lead and where we don't
• Familiarity with private credit portfolio management or loan servicing platforms (Investran, Allvue, WSO, SentryPM, or similar) and how clients use them alongside data products like ours
• Experience with data validation workflows on unstructured legal documents, including defining accuracy thresholds and quality metrics for extracted fields
