Responsibilities

Related Digital is seeking a Director, Procurement to help manage OFCI (Owner Furnished, Contractor Installed) equipment sourcing and category execution for assigned projects within its data center development pipeline. This role handles day-to-day sourcing and negotiation for critical long lead equipment, including generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and cooling infrastructure. The right candidate will be a hands-on procurement professional with strong category expertise and the organizational rigor to manage multiple equipment categories and project timelines at once.

We'll Trust You To
  • Handle day-to-day sourcing and procurement of OFCI equipment, including generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, CDUs, BAS, pumps, motors, and compressors, for assigned projects.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery commitments for individual purchase orders with OEMs and equipment suppliers.
  • Track equipment lead times and delivery schedules against project milestones, flagging and escalating risks as they arise.
  • Process purchase orders, change orders, and contract administration for assigned equipment categories.
  • Partner with Design & Construction and site teams to confirm equipment specifications and coordinate delivery logistics for assigned projects.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, and compliance for assigned categories, coordinating factory witness testing with engineering and quality teams as needed.
  • Support category strategy development and market intelligence gathering to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Contribute to cost savings and total cost of ownership improvements within assigned equipment categories.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, budgets, and reporting for assigned categories and projects.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, including experience with mechanical, electrical, or power generation equipment categories.
  • Experience negotiating and administering contracts with OEMs and equipment suppliers.
  • Familiarity with long lead time equipment procurement in a capital-intensive, project-based environment; data center, power generation, energy, or large-scale construction/infrastructure experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders, contracts, and project timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ability to travel to assigned project sites.
  • Willingness to be based in Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; or New York, NY. Other locations may be considered for candidates willing to travel.
  • Strong preference for candidates based in the Central or Eastern U.S., including Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; or New York, NY. Other locations may be considered for candidates willing to travel.
