Job DescriptionThe Director of Pharmacy - Outpatient Services is responsible for outpatient pharmacy operations at the site(s) assigned. This individual is a recognized pharmacy leader and provides strong, visible, values driven leadership and advocacy for outpatient pharmacy and medical products. Develops and maintains high quality, contemporary outpatient pharmacy services. Ensures the delivery of the highest value care and services to our patients. Ensures incorporation, alignment with and support of the departmental and institutional strategic vision, direction and priorities. Assures the Pharmacy Department meets or exceeds all quality, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards. Ensures outpatient pharmacy education programs are in place and actively supports scholarly activities.
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Advanced degree (Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Master's degree in related field).
Completion of an accredited PGY2 Administrative pharmacy residency
and a minimum of 2 years applicable pharmacy experience;
or completion of an accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency
and a minimum of 4 years applicable pharmacy experience;
or a minimum of 6 years applicable pharmacy experience.
Applicable experience includes providing, developing, implementing and overseeing progressive outpatient pharmacy services. Strong commitment and evidence of achieving excellence. Proven history of successfully working in a team environment. Communicates effectively. Proven history of a commitment to patient care and alignment with Mayo Clinic values. Requirements must be met by employment start date.
Preferred: Experience in an integrated healthcare system. Understanding and experience with the federal 340B drug pricing program. Experience with Specialty Pharmacy. Completion of leadership or management educational programs (e.g. ASHP leadership program, Mayo programs). History of active participation and leadership in pharmacy professional organizations.
License: Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in Minnesota. May not independently fulfill responsibilities reserved only to a pharmacist until license is obtained. Board Certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties preferred.
