The Director, People Relations & Business Enablement is responsible for leading IREN's Business Enablement function, providing strategic people partnership, employee relations leadership, workplace experience initiatives, and organizational support across multiple business units and geographies.
Reporting to the Vice President - People, Culture & Community, this role leads a team of People & Culture Managers, Advisors, and Coordinators and acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, leadership capability, and people risk.
The Director, People Relations & Business Enablement ensures that people decisions are consistent, legally compliant, scalable, and aligned with business objectives while enabling leaders to build high-performing teams and deliver results. The role serves as the primary escalation point for complex employee relations matters, investigations, performance concerns, workplace conflict, and organizational change initiatives

Job requirements

  • Partner with senior leaders and executives to align people strategies with business priorities, growth plans, and organizational objectives.
  • Lead employee relations activities including investigations, performance management, workplace conflict resolution, grievances, and policy interpretation.
  • Provide expert guidance to leaders on complex people matters, organizational change, risk mitigation, and employment-related issues.
  • Lead and develop a team of People & Culture professionals supporting operations, corporate functions, and international business groups.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational design, restructures, and business transformation initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Drive a consistent and scalable approach to employee lifecycle programs, including onboarding, employee experience, internal mobility, and offboarding.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to ensure employment practices are compliant and organizational risks are effectively managed.
  • Lead people-related aspects of acquisitions, integrations, new site expansions, and major business change initiatives.
  • Develop and implement programs that strengthen leadership capability, manager effectiveness, employee engagement, and organizational performance.
  • Use people insights, feedback, and trends to identify risks, improve decision-making, and enhance the employee experience.


Job responsibilities

  • 15+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant employee relations and business partnering leadership.
  • Experience leading HRBP, employee relations, or people partnering functions in a complex, geographically dispersed organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and workplace practices across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing sensitive investigations, executive-level employee matters, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience advising senior executives on workforce strategy, organizational design, and people risk.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Proven people leadership experience with responsibility for developing and leading teams.
  • Experience in a fast-scaling technology, data center, or AI/HPC environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting technology, infrastructure, engineering, operations, or industrial workforces.
  • Experience in publicly traded, high-growth, or global organizations.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities.
  • Background managing teams across North America, Australia, and/or Europe.
  • CHRL, CPHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent professional designation.

Compensation
  • Annual compensation range of $220,000 - $260,000 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and market data for the region.
  • Total Compensation package may be inclusive of short-term and long-term incentives.
