Ideal Candidate Profile

Prime is seeking a Director of Partnerships to expand Prime's reach in service of our mission to unlock markets for climate solutions. A central focus of this role will be growing the pool of philanthropic, catalytic capital available for Prime's investment opportunities, particularly by building relationships with high-net-worth individuals, DAF holders, family offices, and other philanthropists interested in using investment tools alongside traditional grantmaking. Prime seeks an experienced, outcomes-focused leader who balances mission with results. This critical hire possesses the ambition to scale Prime's reach and the relational depth to ensure that growth is rooted in authentic partnership.

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven doer who understands both philanthropy and catalytic impact investing. This person can translate complex climate investment prospects into compelling opportunities for philanthropic partners. The Director of Partnerships will maintain the highest ethical standards, ensuring that every partnership across Prime is built on a foundation of integrity, transparency, and long-term trust-building. This includes listening to partners' needs, creating pathways for collaboration, and ensuring that relevant knowledge is stored, safeguarded, and disseminated appropriately for continued learning and improvement of Prime's relationship management function.

About the Position

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Frontline Fundraising & Donor Stewardship
  • Direct the Partnerships team in achieving ambitious (minimum 7-figure) annual fundraising targets across various Prime catalytic capital opportunities and core support, with a particular focus on growing catalytic investment from various types of asset owners
  • Build and maintain new portfolio of philanthropic partners (ideally DAF holders and UHNWIs entering the philanthropy space) in service of Prime's mission, cultivating their participation in Prime's catalytic investment opportunities, and to help secure Prime's long-term financial sustainability
  • Oversee tracking of donor engagement across portfolios and maintenance of accurate records in CRM systems to ensure timely and strategic engagement in coordination with Partnership Operations
  • Guide prioritization and diversification of engagement across foundations, major donors, family offices, corporate giving and other philanthropic partners
  • Use data, analytics, and market insights to inform strategy and optimize fundraising efforts
  • Lead fundraising campaigns for key programmatic efforts
  • Support Chief Growth Officer in leading and executing strategic initiatives
  • Represent Prime externally as needed

Team Management & Leadership:
  • Oversee and develop a team of 2-5 members
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership in setting and achieving ambitious, while realistic fundraising targets in pursuit of Prime's mission and annual objectives.
  • Liaise closely with the Director of Catalytic Investing and Managing Director of Trellis on program-specific fundraising campaigns
  • Contribute to team-wide strategy development and implementation, including annual goal setting alongside fellow team members


Qualifications
  • 10-12+ years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, impact investing, capital formation, or philanthropy, including significant experience managing donor or investor pipelines and securing major funding commitments
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience in remote or hybrid environments
  • Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals by securing multi-year, multi-million dollar gifts; fundraising campaign experience highly preferred
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Well versed in fundraising tools, including CRMs (Raiser's Edge preferred), prospecting databases, and productivity platforms
  • Experience in impact investing and/or venture capital preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of the climate finance landscape is preferred but not required
  • Understanding of catalytic investing/climate finance in non-U.S. markets preferred
