Full Job Description
As the Director of Transportation, you will oversee planning and supervision of perishable and non-perishable food distribution movement which involves scheduling daily and weekly routes using technology to ensure on-time dispatch. You will have thorough knowledge of supply chain management and understanding of warehouse procedures, dispatching orders, and tracking and maintaining transportation vehicles. You should also be familiar with safety processes and DOT regulations.

What you'll do in your role:
  • Lead a team of drivers, managers and encourage the development and coaching of team members to achieve performance goals and objectives.
  • Develop KPIs, performance standards for a team - managing with vision and purpose, clearly communicating, and giving direction and validating results.
  • Oversee performance, resolve distribution matters relating to distribution centers, third-party consolidation, and storage facilities.
  • Orchestrate daily outbound transportation routing; cohesive customer service relations; resolution of supply chain management issues; and long-term strategic planning in support of CFBNJ plans and objectives.
  • Facilitate state-wide allocation of resources to optimize distribution productivity; adherence to regulations and policies; communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best in class distribution service model; planned execution within budgets and expense controls.
  • Ensures all aspects of safety and DOT requirements are reinforced including vehicle management and monitor vehicle gross weights.
  • Determine integration of processes to ensure seamless support, enforcement of safety standards, productivity, and benchmarks.
  • Spearhead resolution relating to packing, packaging, trailer loading, and timing of deliveries.
  • Develop effective strategies to increase operational efficiencies and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Regular travel to Hillside, NJ office and Egg Harbor Township, NJ office to manage the Transportation department.

What you'll need to be successful in this role:
  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of physical distribution, transportation, resources management, e-commerce, retail plus Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or relevant field; or 10+ years of related experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving excellence through fostering strong relationships, delivering on priorities, problem-solving, building capability and leadership, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Technical aptitude with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data visualization applications (such as GIS, Tableau, etc.) is essential for success.
  • Experience with project management methodology including PMP/Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen.
  • Experience organizing and tracing orders using software such as Samsara, Roadnet or similar programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capable of lifting to 40 pounds to include boxes, equipment and/or supplies.

Pay Transparency: The salary range for this position is $107,755-179,591. The final rate may be influenced by factors such as the position's scope and responsibilities, work experience, training, job-related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
