Why This Job

The Director of Salesforce Implementation & CRM Platforms is the enterprise leader responsible for the successful implementation, governance, adoption, optimization, and long-term value realization of Salesforce across CMC's business units. This role replaces and incorporates the broader responsibilities of the Director of Commercial Technology and Intelligence, while sharpening the focus on Salesforce implementation, CRM platform leadership, commercial technology governance, data intelligence, AI enablement, and ongoing platform operations
This leader will oversee the Salesforce & CRM Team Leader, Salesforce Product Managers, and related CRM platform roles, ensuring the team is aligned to enterprise commercial priorities, business unit needs, roadmap delivery, user adoption, platform reliability, and measurable business outcomes.
The Director will serve as the senior commercial owner for Salesforce implementation while also governing and maintaining CMC's existing CRM ecosystem, including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, and related commercial platforms. This role partners closely with Commercial Operations, Business Units, IT, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Enablement, and external implementation partners to ensure CRM capabilities support a $10B building products manufacturer with complex customer relationships, multiple lines of business, distributed sales teams, and enterprise-wide commercial transformation priorities.
Success in this role is measured by successful Salesforce implementation, platform adoption, business value realization, CRM roadmap execution, data quality, stakeholder satisfaction, team performance, AI and automation enablement, and the ability to simplify and standardize commercial processes across the enterprise.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the enterprise Salesforce implementation strategy, roadmap, governance model, and execution plan across CMC's Lines of Business
  • Own the commercial business implementation of Salesforce, ensuring the platform supports sales effectiveness, customer management, opportunity management, account planning, pipeline visibility, pricing, SMOS, CMOS, and commercial operating processes
  • Partner with IT, system integrators, implementation partners, and business stakeholders to ensure Salesforce is architected, configured, integrated, tested, deployed, and adopted effectively
  • Establish implementation priorities, milestone plans, resource needs, release schedules, risk management routines, and executive reporting cadences
  • Ensure Salesforce capabilities are scalable, reliable, secure, user-friendly, and aligned to the needs of a large, multi-LOB manufacturing enterprise
  • Drive implementation discipline across requirements gathering, design, configuration, development, testing, data migration, deployment, training, hypercare, and post-launch optimization
  • Own the enterprise CRM platform strategy across Salesforce, Dynamics, HubSpot, and related customer-facing commercial technology platforms
  • Establish platform governance, operating standards, prioritization routines, enhancement intake processes, release management standards, and success measures
  • Ensure existing CRM platforms remain stable, supported, governed, and aligned while Salesforce implementation and migration activities are underway
  • Lead rationalization of CRM tools, overlapping capabilities, integrations, data flows, and legacy platform dependencies
  • Partner with IT to define architecture, integration standards, platform security, data ownership, system performance, and long-term support models
  • Oversee vendor relationships, managed services, implementation partners, contract performance, and platform support expectations
  • Lead the Salesforce and CRM Product Management function, including Product Managers aligned to Lines of Business, platform capabilities, and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure Product Managers work directly with business stakeholders to build product roadmaps, prioritize features, define user stories, align on release plans, and deliver value through continuous improvement
  • Translating commercial strategy and business unit needs into platform capabilities, roadmap priorities, implementation requirements, and measurable outcomes
  • Establish consistency in Agile delivery practices, backlog management, sprint planning, stakeholder engagement, release planning, and lifecycle management
  • Balance competing priorities across business units, enterprise initiatives, platform dependencies, budget constraints, and implementation capacity
  • Ensure product decisions are grounded in customer needs, user feedback, market insights, business value, data, and operational feasibility
  • Drive enterprise adoption of Salesforce and CRM capabilities through structured change management, communications, training, leadership alignment, and post-launch support
  • Partner with Sales Enablement, Commercial Operations, Business Unit leaders, and Change Champions to ensure users understand why the platform matters, how to use it, and how it improves commercial execution
  • Coordinate release communications, training plans, stakeholder updates, feedback loops, and adoption barrier resolution
  • Ensure Salesforce and CRM tools are embedded into standard operating rhythms, including pipeline reviews, account planning, customer management, forecasting, pricing workflows, and sales management routines
  • Build feedback mechanisms to continuously improve usability, workflow alignment, training effectiveness, and data quality
  • Lead the commercial CRM data strategy required to support Salesforce implementation, CRM optimization, reporting, AI readiness, automation, and decision intelligence
  • Partner with IT, data teams, business stakeholders, and the AI program leadership team to improve commercial data quality, stewardship, governance, ownership, and usability
  • Sponsor AI-enabled Salesforce and CRM capabilities that improve sales productivity, customer experience, decision quality, automation, and commercial execution
  • Ensure responsible AI governance, security, compliance, data standards, and risk management are incorporated into Salesforce and CRM use cases
  • Establish standardized commercial reporting, dashboards, KPI frameworks, and analytics solutions that support leadership visibility and business performance management
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Salesforce & CRM Team Leader, Salesforce Product Managers, CRM support resources, and related commercial technology roles
  • Establish team structure, role clarity, performance expectations, delivery accountability, and capability development plans
  • Build a high-performing organization that can implement Salesforce, maintain existing CRM platforms, support business users, and continuously improve commercial technology capabilities
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer-centric thinking, disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and measurable value realization
  • Communicate strategic priorities, roadmap progress, implementation risks, adoption results, and value realization to senior leadership

What You'll Need
  • 5+ years of experience in CRM, Salesforce implementation, commercial technology, digital transformation, sales operations, product management, or enterprise business systems leadership
  • 5+ years leading enterprise CRM or Salesforce programs, preferably in complex B2B, manufacturing, distribution, construction materials, industrial, or multi-business-unit environments
  • 5+ years leading managers, product owners, product managers, platform teams, or cross-functional implementation teams
  • Proven experience leading or sponsoring large-scale Salesforce implementation, transformation, or major CRM modernization
  • Experience operating in a complex enterprise environment with multiple business units, legacy systems, integrations, distributed users, and executive-level governance requirements.
  • Hands-on understanding of CRM platform operations, release management, user adoption, backlog prioritization, product lifecycle management, data governance, and value realization
  • Experience maintaining and optimizing existing CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics and HubSpot while advancing a future-state Salesforce roadmap
  • Experience working closely with IT, enterprise architecture, data teams, implementation partners, vendors, commercial leaders, and executive stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes, including sales management, pipeline management, customer segmentation, account planning, pricing workflows, customer engagement, forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Salesforce implementation experience in a company of similar scale and complexity, ideally a $5B to $15B+ industrial, manufacturing, building products, distribution, or B2B enterprise
  • Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Revenue Cloud/CPQ, MuleSoft, Data Cloud, Tableau, Agent force, or other Salesforce ecosystem capabilities
  • Experience with CRM data migration, master data alignment, enterprise integrations, customer hierarchy design, account management models, and role-based security
  • Experience building CRM governance models that balance enterprise standardization with business unit flexibility
  • Experience leading post-go-live support, hypercare, adoption measurement, enhancement prioritization, and continuous improvement
  • Experience with Agile delivery tools and practices, including Jira, TFS, Salesforce Agile Accelerator, sprint planning, backlog management, and release planning

Your Education
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification-This should be the minimum required Salesforce certification for this leadership role because the Director needs enough platform fluency to govern configuration decisions, user administration, reporting, and support
  • Salesforce Business Analyst Certification or equivalent experience- Strongly recommended because this role must translate business requirements, stakeholder needs, process design, and implementation priorities into Salesforce capabilities
