You're a go-getter who lives in the data but knows how to make it resonate - with clients, with buyers, and internal teams. You have a talent for building strong relationships, and a collaborative spirit that makes everyone around you better. You'll own the insights function for our client portfolio of brands and suppliers selling to our client: pulling and synthesizing data across syndicated sources, point-of-sale data, and digital shelf performance to build the kind of stories that grow the category, win shelf space, identify trends, and drive sustained growth. You know what it takes to collaborate effectively between buyers, analysts, and brands. You bring a point of view, not just a report.
- Own the insights agenda for the client's portfolio - translating syndicated data (Circana, Nielsen), point-of-sale data, and digital shelf metrics into clear, actionable recommendations that drive real business decisions
- Partner closely with our sales and account management teams to identify growth opportunities at the item, category, and store level - from planogram performance to white space analysis and innovation pipeline strategy
- Build and deliver client-facing business reviews, category sell-in narratives, and insights presentations that connect data to a compelling retail story - one that resonates with both brand partners and buyers
- Lead competitive landscape and comp shop analysis, ensuring our brand partners always know where they stand and where the opportunity lies
- Develop a consistent cadence of performance reporting across the portfolio - weekly sales trends, seasonal recaps, promotional measurement, and strategic initiative tracking
- Apply deep knowledge of client's systems, merchant priorities, and category dynamics to help brands position themselves as true category partners - not just vendors
- Help clients understand not just what is happening in their category, but why - and what they should do about it
- Establish best practices, templates, and workflows for how insights work gets done - bringing structure and repeatability to a function that will scale
- Act as a strategic thought partner to Account Directors and Sales leadership, helping translate data findings into commercial recommendations and client growth strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail Media to ensure retail insights inform the full omnichannel picture - not just the store aisle
- Serve as the internal go-to on syndicated data, research methodology, and specific analytics questions across the broader Retail team
Basic Qualifications- Minimum 7 years in retail insights, category management, or analytics
Preferred Qualifications- Expert-level proficiency with Circana and/or Nielsen, and familiarity with other syndicated data platforms.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or AI features in Circana/NielsenIQ platforms) to speed up analysis, with a strong sense of how to validate outputs and handle retailer and client data responsibly.
- Strong working knowledge of retail systems including POL
- A proven track record of building client-ready category narratives and insights presentations that drive action - not just awareness
- Experience partnering directly with retail buyers or supporting the buyer relationship through data and category expertise
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and building process where none exists - you see a blank page as an opportunity, not a problem
- Strong communicator and storyteller; you can walk a room through complex data and make it feel obvious
- Highly organized with sharp attention to detail - you take pride in doing awesome work and thrive in fastmoving, detail-heavy environments
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a collaborative mindset - you make the people around you better
