Position Summary: This position is a senior-level management position responsible for directing the clinical operations of the residential substance use treatment programs of the Seattle Indian Health Board and Thunderbird Treatment Center (TTC). The director works closely with other senior leadership staff to carry out the mission of the SIHB in the delivery of culturally attuned, high-quality, and accessible healthcare.
Organizational Structure/Reporting Relationships: This position reports directly to the Associate Behavioral Health Officerand is a member of the Behavioral Health Division. In addition to direct oversight of the behavioral health teams, the TTC Director also exercises indirect oversight over administrative staff, in collaboration with the Residential Operations Director.

Job Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to our IndigiKnow Model (Indigenous Knowledge Informed Systems of Care model) through collaboration with all other programs and departments.
- Ensure culturally appropriate services are being delivered. Work in close collaboration with our Outpatient Behavioral Health Division Director and our BH Program Directors to guarantee we are offering consistent and culturally attuned SUD treatment across all levels of treatment.
- Oversee the day-to-day direct practice and overall delivery of care at TTC.
- Responsible for the regulatory compliance of the Residential Treatment programs. Maintain appropriate licensing and meet training requirements to provide high-quality, direct relative care.
- Ensure appropriate supervision and training are offered to enhance the clinical development of our Behavioral Health Teams and administrative teams as required by licensing, funding, and accreditation bodies.
- Ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures. Stay abreast of Washington Administrative Codes (WACs), federal regulations, licensing, and governing bodies, and update TTC's Behavioral Health Clinical Policies & Procedures annually and/or as needed.
- Actively participate in internal quality improvement teams and work with members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards, when assigned.
- Participate routinely in weekly Clinical Case Staffing Meetings and our weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting(s).
- Manage a caseload of individual or group relatives and adhere to SIHB's documentation guidelines.
- Manage budgets and understand optimal revenue cycle streams and other funding sources for the behavioral health division.
- Ensure maximum utilization of resources; monitor productivity and implement improvements as needed.
- Participate in state, local, and other relevant discussions to represent and communicate agency and community needs and resources. Stay informed of legislative or other changes affecting substance use and mental wellness service delivery or funding.
- Provide both internal and external training/presentations as assigned.
- Oversee clinical aspects of behavioral health grants through collaboration with grant and data departments, with regular monitoring and reporting as required.
- As a member of the Division Leadership Team, attend and participate in meetings and retreats.
- Actively recruit and hire mental health practitioners to support our rapid growth and expansion sites.
Requirements- Master's Degree in Social Work, Master's in Counseling Psychology, Master's in Mental Health Counseling, or Master's in Marriage and Family preferred.
- Substance Use Disorder Professional Certification. SUD Clinical Supervisor preferred.
- Five years of experience as an SUD Residential Director are required.
- SUDP License in the State of Washington must be obtained within 6 months.
- Knowledge and familiarity with both Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders rules and regulations as they relate to governing, licensing, and funding agencies.
- Ability to lead a service delivery team of both professionals and entry-level staff.
- Computer skills sufficient to carry out position duties. Experience with utilizing Electronic Health Records.
- Familiarity with the health and social issues facing the American Indian/Alaska Native population and a desire to serve this population.
- Valid Washington state's driver's license and insured personal transportation to attend meetings locally.
- Ability to attend occasional meetings out of town and on weekends or evenings.
