The Californian-Pasadena is seeking a dedicated, motivated, and experienced
Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to lead our in-house rehabilitation department.

licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) and Occupational Therapists (OTRs) with strong clinical backgrounds and a passion for leadership.
Located in beautiful Pasadena, directly across from Huntington Hospital, The Californian-Pasadena is a charming
82-bed skilled nursing facility known for its welcoming environment, collaborative team, and commitment to quality resident care.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring therapists, supporting clinical excellence, and building a successful rehabilitation program.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily clinical and operational functions of the rehabilitation department, including Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services.
- Lead, mentor, and support rehabilitation staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Manage daily staffing, scheduling, productivity, and departmental performance.
- Collaborate with nursing, administration, MDS, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality resident care.
- Monitor Medicare Part A and Part B therapy utilization and identify clinically appropriate rehabilitation opportunities.
- Ensure timely evaluations, individualized treatment plans, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor department performance, including labor expenses, productivity, and cost per treatment minute.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Foster a positive, supportive work environment focused on excellent patient outcomes.
Qualifications- Current California Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OTR) license required.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility or post-acute rehabilitation setting strongly preferred.
- Previous Director of Rehabilitation, Assistant Director of Rehabilitation, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, and rehabilitation documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance clinical responsibilities with departmental operations and financial performance.
- Passion for mentoring staff and delivering exceptional resident care.
