Full Job Description
Director of Procurement

Hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday thru Friday

The Director of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the organization's global procurement strategy and overseeing procurement and incoming supply chain activities across all regions. This position provides strategic leadership to optimize cost, quality, delivery, supplier performance, and supply continuity while supporting business growth and profitability.

The Director will lead the global procurement organization, establish scalable processes and organizational structures, develop strategic supplier relationships, and drive cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. This position works closely with Executive Leadership, Finance, Product Line Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other functions to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute global procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with corporate objectives, financial goals, and long-term business plans.
  • Lead strategic sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, and supplier development across all product lines and regions.
  • Identify and execute cost-reduction, cost-avoidance, and value-engineering initiatives to improve profitability and competitiveness.
  • Establish cost benchmarks and analyze market, commodity, and supplier trends to support sourcing and pricing decisions.
  • Provide strategic oversight of supplier performance, including cost, quality, delivery, capacity, financial stability, and supply risk.
  • Develop supplier risk-management and business-continuity strategies to address supply disruptions, capacity constraints, single-source dependencies, and other risks.
  • Lead, develop, and structure a high-performing global procurement organization, including talent development, succession planning, performance management, and resource allocation.
  • Establish and maintain global procurement policies, procedures, systems, and best practices that promote consistency, accountability, and scalability.
  • Oversee procurement activities within SyteLine MRP and other applicable ERP/MRP systems, ensuring effective processes and data integrity.
  • Partner with Product Line, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and other functional leaders to identify opportunities and align resources with business priorities.
  • Provide procurement leadership and strategic input into product development, supplier selection, make-versus-buy decisions, manufacturing planning, and other cross-functional initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor global procurement metrics, including spend, savings, supplier performance, cost, delivery, quality, and inventory.
  • Provide Executive Leadership with regular reporting, analysis, and recommendations regarding procurement performance, market conditions, supplier risks, and strategic opportunities.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning related to procurement, material costs, supplier strategy, and organizational resources.
  • Lead complex cross-functional and global initiatives and ensure accountability for measurable results.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and results throughout the procurement organization.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Company policies, quality and environmental management systems, and applicable safety and regulatory requirements.


Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or a related manufacturing environment, including significant leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing procurement strategies in a global or multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams and develop scalable organizational structures and processes.
  • Extensive experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SyteLine, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data-analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, cost modeling, cost reduction, supplier performance, and manufacturing supply chain principles.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, negotiation, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term strategies while managing operational priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions, locations, cultures, and levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
