This is more than a Director of Nursing role. It's an opportunity to lead a dedicated nursing team at one of California's most respected addiction treatment centers while helping individuals build the foundation for lasting recovery.

 

For more than 30 years, The Camp Recovery Center has provided comprehensive addiction treatment services for adults struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Located on a serene 25-acre campus nestled among the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, The Camp offers medically supervised detoxification, residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient programming (IOP) in a healing, recovery-focused environment.

 

We're seeking a passionate nursing leader who thrives on developing teams, driving clinical excellence, and creating positive patient outcomes. As Director of Nursing, you'll play a key leadership role within the organization, partnering with facility leadership to strengthen nursing practice, promote employee engagement, and support high-quality patient care.

 

What You'll Do

 

As Director of Nursing, you will:

• Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing services throughout the facility.
• Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain top nursing talent.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
• Lead quality improvement and performance excellence initiatives.
• Partner with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Support staffing effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
• Help shape the strategic direction of nursing operations and patient care services.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
• Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of Registered Nurse experience required; 6+ years preferred.
• One year of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, addiction treatment, or a related healthcare setting required.
• Two years of behavioral health nursing experience preferred.
• Two years of progressive leadership or management experience required.
• Prior Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, or similar nursing leadership experience preferred.
