Position Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall clinical leadership, supervision, and coordination of patient care services within the home health agency. The DON ensures compliance with all federal, state (Nevada), and accreditation standards, while promoting high-quality, patient-centered care.
This role works closely with the Administrator and oversees all clinical staff, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient delivery of home health services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight
Direct and supervise all clinical operations and patient care services
Ensure development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans
Monitor patient outcomes and ensure quality improvement initiatives
Review and approve clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance
Staff Supervision & Leadership
Supervise and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical staff
Conduct hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions
Ensure staff competency, ongoing education, and compliance with licensing requirements
Provide clinical guidance and mentorship
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), Nevada state regulations, and accrediting bodies (CHAP, ACHC, Joint Commission)
