Director of Life Science Business Development, Financial ServicesTruveta is seeking a
Director Life Science Business Development, Financial Services to lead and expand our presence within the financial services sector reporting to the Vice President of Business Development. This role will focus on driving strategic revenue growth by engaging hedge funds, private equity firms, venture capital investors, asset managers, investment banks, and other financial institutions seeking data-driven insights to support investment decisions across the healthcare ecosystem.
As a senior individual contributor, you will own a portfolio of key accounts, develop new business opportunities, and position Truveta's Real World Data (RWD), Real World Evidence (RWE), and healthcare intelligence solutions as essential tools for healthcare-focused investing. You will serve as a trusted advisor to investment professionals by helping them leverage Truveta's deep clinical data and analytics capabilities to evaluate market opportunities, assess competitive dynamics, monitor healthcare trends, and make more informed investment decisions. We are looking for an individual who has a proven sales history of achieving/exceeding revenue targets, and a history of prospecting, building, and growing relationships with Financial Services companies.
Responsibilities will include: Business Development & Revenue Growth- Lead business development efforts for Truveta's RWD, RWE, analytics, and technology solutions across financial institutions, including hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, mutual funds, investment banks, and healthcare-focused investors.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to identify, qualify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
- Own and exceed annual bookings, revenue, and growth targets across assigned accounts and territories.
- Build and maintain a balanced pipeline of near-term opportunities and long-term strategic engagements.
Executive Relationship Management- Establish and deepen relationships with senior stakeholders including Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, Operating Partners, Investment Professionals, Data Procurement Leaders, and Executive Leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for financial services clients throughout the sales lifecycle and post-sale engagement.
- Position Truveta as a best-in-class provider of healthcare intelligence and real-world data solutions for investment decision-making.
Solution Selling- Understand client investment strategies, research methodologies, and healthcare data needs to align Truveta solutions with business objectives.
- Communicate Truveta's value proposition effectively before, during, and after the sales process.
- Develop tailored proposals that combine data access, analytics, insights, evidence generation, and technology solutions.
- Design end-to-end solutions that address complex client challenges related to healthcare investing, market intelligence, diligence, forecasting, and portfolio management.
Cross-Functional Leadership- Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, Solutions, Engineering, Analytics, Marketing, and Leadership teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
- Coordinate internal resources to support strategic pursuits, proposal development, contract negotiations, and customer onboarding.
- Ensure timely delivery of client solutions and ongoing customer satisfaction.
Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership- Maintain deep expertise in healthcare markets, life sciences, provider systems, digital health, biopharma, and healthcare technology trends.
- Develop insight into emerging healthcare investment themes and proactively educate clients on new opportunities.
- Represent Truveta at industry conferences, investor forums, and executive-level customer engagements.
- Contribute to thought leadership efforts that elevate Truveta's visibility within the financial services community.
Operational Excellence- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking in Salesforce.
- Conduct regular client business reviews to identify expansion opportunities and maximize customer value.
- Deliver consistent and accurate sales reporting, account planning, and financial forecasting.
Key Qualifications - 5+ years' experience in Financial Services selling Real World Data and analytics to serve investment decisions
- Previous history as a successful business development executive at an RWD company selling to financial services, including relevant RWD expertise and contacts.
- Strong network and relationships with key decision-makers in Financial Services companies.
- Proven track record of achieving/exceeding revenue targets.
- Ability to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
- Experience navigating complex Financial Services Organizations to identify key stakeholders and traversing complicated and extensive enterprise-wide sales cycles
- Experience with enterprise-level RWD Life Sciences data strategies, RWD operating mechanisms (Centers of Excellence) within the Enterprise, and enterprise-level RWD informatics platform investments.
- Ability to lead comprehensive selling processes at various levels within the Financial Services enterprise including C-suite level, business leader unit level, and with IT and Procurement organizations.
- Demonstrated experience with matrixed management of cross-functional teams in start-up environments.
- Experience with conveying the Voice of the Customer to internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate exceptional written and communication skills and experience developing external relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel as required.

- The base pay for this position is $150,000 to $180,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
