Full Job Description
Hybrid (2 days/week in office minimum) Overview of Position
Delivering on the promise of making San Francisco the first city in the US with universal access to legal services requires matching our fast-paced growth with equally paced revenue. Behind every client we serve is a community of people who believe that justice shouldn't depend on what you can afford. We're looking for a Director of Individual Giving to grow that community. You'll be the person who turns a donor's first gift into a lifelong partnership, and a well-told story into a campaign that moves people to act. You'll cultivate major gifts, run campaigns that inspire action, and tell the stories that turn supporters into champions. Success in this role requires grit, dynamism, teamwork, care, and passion (our five values as an organization). You will report directly to our Chief Advancement Officer. Responsibilities
Individual giving strategy. Develop and execute the annual campaign plan and the broader individual giving strategy, including new donor acquisition, renewal, upgrade, and recurring giving.
Major gifts. Personally manage a major gifts portfolio, from cultivation through solicitation and stewardship, using disciplined moves management.
Marketing operations. Run the fundraising marketing machinery: campaign calendar, audience segmentation, email and digital appeals, donation pages, and tracking, in partnership with Development Operations Associate and Sr Engagement Coordinator.
Messaging. Own fundraising messaging, including appeals, impact stories, and stewardship content, so that donor communications are consistent, compelling, and aligned with ODL's brand and media policy.
Reporting and learning. Analyze campaign and portfolio results and use them to adjust strategy and advise the Chief Advancement Officer.
Embrace and embody our values of teamwork, grit, caring, passion, and dynamism.
