Full Job Description
The Role

The Director of HR owns the full HR function. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set the strategy, do the work today, and build the team and systems to support a company four times our current size. The role is 100% onsite for the first 90 days and primarily onsite after that, based in either Torrance, CA or Plano, TX.

What You Will Own
  • Staff management: Lead the HR team, including an HR Generalist / HRBP, Receptionist / HR Admins in our Torrance and Plano offices, and a full-time Trainer (to be hired).
  • Talent acquisition: Recruit and hire technical and sales talent (MSP technicians, engineers, business development managers). Own time to fill and quality of hire.
  • Onboarding and training: Run our training platform (Trainual). Managers write the content; HR runs the system, assigns training, tracks completion, and holds managers accountable for keeping content current.
  • Performance and retention: Run the quarterly KPI scorecard and review cycles, drive retention, and report people metrics to leadership and the board.
  • Acquisition integration: Lead the people side of acquisitions, including due diligence, offers and benefits mapping, key staff retention, and onboarding acquired teams.
  • Compliance and employee relations: Keep us compliant across every state where we have employees, maintain the handbook and policies, and manage benefits and employee relations.
  • Culture: Hire and coach to our core values as the company scales.

What You Bring
  • 7+ years of HR experience with increasing responsibility, including 2+ years leading an HR function
  • Experience scaling a company from under 100 to 300+ employees, ideally under private equity ownership
  • Hands-on M&A integration experience
  • Strong California and Texas employment law knowledge, plus multi-state compliance
  • Experience hiring technical talent; MSP or IT services background a plus
  • Ability to explain equity incentive programs clearly to employees
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary of $145,000 to $165,000, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus tied to HR KPIs and eligibility for the company's incentive program.

  • 401(k) with Safe Harbor Match: Up to a 4% company match, eligible after 90 days.
