The Group Sales & Event Director- Hybrid/Remote will play a key role in generating revenue, developing client relationships, and maximizing profitability for Grand Hyatt Vail. This position combines sales leadership and business development with hands-on event servicing, ensuring that clients receive an exceptional experience from the initial proposal through event completion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving an assigned sales quota while cultivating new business, strengthening existing partnerships, and partnering closely with hotel operations to deliver memorable, profitable events.
Key Responsibilities - Achieve assigned sales quota and revenue goals through proactive selling, account development, and business development activities.
- Lead group sales, event sales, and event servicing efforts for corporate groups, social events, weddings, conferences, meetings, and other key market segments.
- Manage the client relationship throughout the sales and event lifecycle, from prospecting and contracting through event execution and post-event follow-up.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies, event organizers, universities, destination management companies, and key business partners.
- Identify and secure new business through networking, prospecting, referrals, site visits, trade events, and client engagement.
- Develop customized proposals and presentations that align with client needs and maximize hotel revenue.
- Partner closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Catering, Banquets, Culinary, and Operations teams to optimize total hotel performance and ensure seamless event execution.
- Conduct client site visits, sales presentations, and pre-event meetings as needed.
- Monitor event details, budgets, and client expectations to support successful and profitable event execution.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally, serving as a trusted point of contact throughout the event experience.
- Track sales activity, pipeline development, conversion results, and revenue performance using the hotel's systems and reporting tools.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and local business conditions to identify opportunities and strengthen Grand Hyatt Vail's market position.
- Represent Grand Hyatt Vail professionally at industry events, networking functions, sales missions, and community activities.
- Support the coaching, development, and engagement of Sales and Event team members.
- Maintain a strong understanding of hotel offerings, event capabilities, seasonal demand, and revenue management principles.
