Position OverviewSaddlebrook Resort is seeking an experienced and strategic
Director of Finance to lead all financial operations for this large-scale, full-service resort. The Director of Finance serves as a key member of the resort leadership team and partners closely with the General Manager, ownership, department leaders, and corporate finance leadership to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term profitability.
This position provides oversight of all accounting and financial functions while serving as a strategic business partner to resort leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong hotel/resort finance experience, exceptional analytical and leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage the financial complexity of a multi-outlet, amenity-rich resort environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all financial and accounting operations for the resort, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with company standards, USALI, GAAP, and applicable regulations.
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to the General Manager, ownership, and executive leadership team.
- Direct the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly financial statements, operating reports, forecasts, budgets, and business plans.
- Monitor financial performance and provide meaningful analysis of revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and key operational metrics.
- Partner with department leaders to establish financial goals, identify opportunities for improved performance, and develop action plans to address variances.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and ownership expectations.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial procedures.
- Oversee cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, general ledger, purchasing, and other accounting functions.
- Monitor daily financial activity and ensure proper controls surrounding cash handling, deposits, credit card transactions, inventories, and revenue reporting.
- Analyze resort-wide departmental performance, including rooms, food & beverage, golf, spa, recreation, events, and other revenue-generating outlets and amenities.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to maximize profitability while maintaining exceptional guest service and the resort's overall standards.
- Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and recommendations to support capital investments, operational initiatives, and strategic business decisions.
- Oversee the financial aspects of capital expenditures, including budgeting, tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banking partners, vendors, and other financial stakeholders as appropriate.
- Recruit, develop, and lead the resort's finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure team members receive appropriate training and development and maintain strong succession planning within the finance organization.
- Communicate financial results and business insights clearly to both financial and non-financial leaders.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, reduce costs, and increase overall financial efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local financial and tax requirements.
- Participate as an active member of the resort's executive leadership team and contribute to overall property strategy and decision-making.
What are we looking for?- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive hotel or resort finance/accounting experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- Prior experience as a Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, or similar senior-level hotel finance position strongly preferred.
- Experience in a large-scale, full-service or luxury resort environment with multiple revenue streams, outlets, and operational departments highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting practices, USALI, GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Experience working closely with a General Manager, ownership group, and executive leadership team.
- Strong understanding of Rooms, Food & Beverage, and other resort departmental operations and their impact on financial performance.
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial information and translate it into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate an accounting team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel accounting/financial systems.
- Experience with property management systems and financial reporting platforms preferred.

$160,000
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
